An AMBER Alert has been issued for a 5-year-old child who was taken from a Spokane Valley home following a stabbing early Tuesday morning.

According to the alert, law enforcement says 41-year-old Justin P. Robertson broke into the home of his estranged wife, stabbed her multiple times and took their 5-year-old child, Ethan Robertson.

Ethan is 5-years-old, white, brown hair and brown eyes and weighs 30 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue pajamas and an orange Nike shirt.

The suspect, 41-year-old Justin Robertson is white, 5'9", 205 pounds, with a goatee beard and green eyes. Robertson was last seen wearing a green Adidas shirt and black Adidas shorts.

Law enforcement believes Robertson is driving a 2014 red Subaru Legacy with Washington License Plate APN2450.

Deputies responded to a panic alarm around 5 a.m. at a residence in Spokane Valley, located just outside of Spokane, and found a woman screaming for help.

The back door was wide open and they found the victim “bleeding profusely,” according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim told responding deputies she had recently served divorce papers to her estranged husband, identified as 41-year-old Justin P. Robertson, and accused Robertson of stabbing her and kidnapping their their son, Ethan.

The woman was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, but was expected to survive, according to the sheriff’s office.

That poor woman. Her FB still has her wedding picture as a header so the estrangement must be very recent. I do hope the father realizes the scope of what his son is being put through and turns himself in.

I’m at the St. John fairgrounds, where deputies have stationed after tracking the Amber Alert suspect here. The suspect is not in custody, according to a deputy. That’s all the info I have but follow here for more details.

Deputy Mark Gregory said that Ethan, the child, appears to be fine. Hostage negotiators and a SWAT team is surrounding a house where the two are located. Negotiators are talking with suspect Justin Robertson, who is still considered armed and dangerous.
