Anymore word on the boy - who cares if the dad survives... (IF it was a murder-suicide...)
Anymore word on the boy - who cares if the dad survives... (IF it was a murder-suicide...)
that article doesn't say the boy died yet, unless I am reading it incorrectly?
Regardless, this is just too much... but then, most of what we read here is... too too tragic.
Spoke too soon. This from Kiro news:

OMG, and ketamine, morphine, codeine and other drugs.
Straight up.
I don't see anything here that says the child has passed. This from Huffington Post:
A Washington state man is accused of trying to kill his 4-year-old with heroin on the day his divorce was supposed to be finalized.
Eric Emil Lehtinen, 37, was found unconscious with his son in their locked Redmond home on Tuesday, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports. Police say a syringe filled with heroin was sticking out of the boy's chest. (more at link)

Still cannot find a word on local media. I am speechless.

Wish I could give mom and baby a big big
Mom by all appearances is a beautiful, spiritual woman who by 2012 took to using her maiden name. Except for one check mark on her record she seemed to be levelheaded, and intelligent. Maybe the type who thought she could save someone?
Poor little boy. As bad as this sounds I'd think knowing your a****** father stuck you with a needle had to be terrifying. Puncture on his bottom I pray was something skin popped that knocked him out before the SOB looked for a vein in the little guy's neck.
Sad, sad, sad, sad. To postpone the divorce? Seriously? Hopefully he can't get any drugs in prison. Then again maybe I hope he does.
On Monday, King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg told KIRO Radio, Fortunately the doctors around here are pretty amazing and the son has now been released from the hospital He has a team of social workers and doctors who will be working with him on whats in his best interest going forward.
Saradia Lehtinen told authorities she knew of her husbands past as a heroin and ketamine user -- but she was not aware that he had started to use drugs again. Lehtinen said the reason she dropped her son off with his father was because she had a job interview on the night of September 23.
Dad pleads not guilty to injecting son with heroin

A Redmond man pleaded guilty Thursday afternoon to attempted murder in the first degree for attempting to kill his 4-year-old son in 2013 by injecting him with heroin...
His wife said Lehtinen had been a heroin and ketamine user in the past but had told her he had stopped. Due to his past, Lehtinen's wife insisted that part of the divorce and child custody visitation agreement was that he submit to drug testing to ensure their son's safety, documents state.
A 39-year-old former Redmond man pleaded guilty Thursday to attempted first-degree murder, admitting he injected his then-4-year-old son with a potentially lethal dose of heroin, ketamine and other drugs...
In exchange for his guilty plea, the state agreed to dismiss three aggravating factors that, if proven, would have made Lehtinen eligible for longer sentence, said King County Deputy Prosecutor Benjamin Gauen...
The state will also ask a judge to issue a lifetime order barring Lehtinen from having any contact with his son or the boys mother, Gauen said.
The boy will turn 6 on Sunday.
