Yeah, I'm thinking it's probably just to stand by. Normally in hostage/standoff situations they always have medical on stand by in case something goes wrong.

I agree........I can't say that I wouldn't have given this guy a second chance years ago considering his age. He was in for armed robbery........not murder or child rape at the time.

Shortly after 12 a.m. today, a King County sheriff's armored vehicle was brought to the home, which was bathed in bright lights. Police began using loudspeakers, asking whoever was inside to call 911.

Police yelled over the loudspeakers, "Mr. Clemmons we want to minimize the situation."

I did hear a cop mention something about 32nd and Yessler - very quickly too about 20 min ago. LOL

You are probably just in tune with how they talk. It's almost like a foreign language to me. :innocent: When you hear like a 'pop' is that when they change channels. Second fire in about a 1/2 hour I've heard where a fire engine was sent out.

Clemmons' sister, Latanya Clemmons, said tonight she was on the street in front of her aunt's house waiting to see what happens. She also said she and her cousin, Cicely were trying to call their aunt and Maurice in the house but they were getting no answer.

I didn't say it made it better. Would that guy have been out on parole anyway if he had not gotten clemency? He granted this for too many people but he wasn't the only one now was he? Nice jump on the blame Republicans by the way.....

Well this one was the fault of a Republican who else should we blame? Obama?

I want Huckabee to admit he is human and made a terrible mistake granting this man clemency. Is that so much to ask for?
Instead he acts like a coward and blames the states of AK and WA along with the prosecutors (who by the way were adamant that Clemmons not be granted clemency) He blamed everyone possible except for himself.

I live in WA and have watched 5 officers murdered in less than a month. I am angry- I am not against pardons and clemency but I am against someone pretending their hands are clean when they are clearly not.

An officer at 30th and Yessler just called dispatch to ask if there is media around he would like them to show up there. That is where they have Yessler blocked off.

It could be Search, They had a medical response to the scene, now want a camera media crew there about 2 blocks away. I think that is where their comand post is as I heard a comment about the command post by the unnamed address from the same officer who called for the media.

Could be something has happened and it will be over soon. Trouble is on getting live news at this hour in Portland is next to impossible unless they break in with Breaking News. They might do that in Seattle but not here I don't think. Trouble is they do a segment and then repeat it every 15 min or so, like to drive you nuts.

Just heard a meighbor has contacted police and has drawn a sketch of the floorplan of 'suspect' house. I would bet this is the Aunt's house. I do hope the Aunt is OK.

ETA: It's getting pretty exciting up there. It was the daughter of a neighbor officers found walking up the hill with some other people [family members} who told the cops she knows that property, the house, trailer and shed {both out back} really well. They are taking her to the command center. A change, there is a set up for police at a nearby school. They are going to bring the girl there to give her info.

Those poor neighbors. Imagine, a loud speaker after midnight! I don't think those newsmen are going to want to stay out inthe cold for long. We have sports on for 1/2 hour, can you imagine when this is going on!

I think of all these family members and how awful this has to be for them. I wonder why he picked these 4 officers. And I wonder if he is the man who killed the other Seattle cop? Could be, and maybe he had a grudge or beef against these particular cops. They said he has something like a degrading mentality - like his brain has lost allot of it's function. And I bet he still has his gun, although as far as we know he might have bled out already. Maybe the lady leaving the house who said he was in there was his Aunt. This lady was leaving the house and stopped by officers. xox

scandi--It's been reported that the man who killed the officer on Halloween is still in the hospital in stable condition. This is definitely another monster.
