Renton man missing after possible kidnapping at apartment - KING 5
A man in his 20s is missing after he was seen pulled into a car by a group of suspects in a possible kidnapping at a Renton apartment Sunday night, according to police.

The Renton Police Department was called just after 7:15 p.m. Sunday for a possible kidnapping at an apartment in north Renton. The caller told officers they saw multiple suspects put a struggling man into a vehicle in the parking garage before the group fled.

Investigators determined Gouled Ali, 26, was the missing man from the apartment complex. There was evidence of a struggle at the scene, according to investigators.

Police said Ali is 6-feet-1 and weighs about 185 pounds. Police asked for anyone with information on Ali's disappearance or his current whereabouts to call 911 and reference case 23-9595.

"There were a couple of males with face masks on who had been putting another male who appeared to be struggling and kicking into the back of a vehicle and then drove away,” said Detective Robert Onishi. “As to why somebody would want to do him harm or want to kidnap him here, we would love to know because that will give us kind of more of a starting point for the investigation to try to locate him, hopefully, safely.

A family member who prefers to not be identified said, "for me and the family, we are devastated. I have grown up with Gouled my entire life, just a person that has always been authentic, honest, loyal."

"He went down to grab something out of his garage, and he never came back up,” the family member continued. "It doesn't make sense. We don't know what is going on, we don't know why. This is a nightmare that is continuing to unfold."

Police are investigating after a 26-year-old man was reportedly kidnapped from an apartment building in Renton on Sunday night.

SNIPPED: Officers found evidence of a struggle at the scene and were able to determine the missing man was Gouled Ali, a resident of the building, police said. Ali is described as 6-foot-1, 185 pounds.

By his name and physical appearance, the victim could be Somalian.

There are Somalian gangs that "specialize" in criminal activity targeting other Somalians. The range of criminal activity includes street gang focused crimes such as drug sales.

The are also involved in more mafia oriented crimes such as extorting "protection money" from business owners etc.
