This is a stretch I hate to make, because I hate when people jump to the famous serial killer conclusion for every missing/unsolved. I call it the Bundy Effect.
But..for some reason I was revisiting Israel Keys today, that guy really shook me when he was caught. Anyway, I listened to a small part of an interview he gave with Federal Agents in Alaska. It was almost boring, them discussing jurisdictional divides. They were talking about Western vs. Eastern Washington state. Unprompted Keys asked about where Ellensburg Wa would land. (Also, I thought it odd he wouldn't know as he grew up in Eastern Washington??) That seemed pretty specific, so I looked for people missing out of Kittitas County. Lindsey Baum is pretty well known. But then I saw Gregrey Brown.
He went missing from Rachel Lake trail head. Keys was an outdoorsman who iirc, said he looked for victims in such places. He also stated that he may have targeted middle aged men because no one would suspect them as victims of this sort of crime.
I couldn't find it, but I remember in an interview he admitted to sexually assaulting a known victim of his who was an older male.
It seemed like he was reluctant to admit that and did not want his bi-sexuality to be outed.
Just a thought dump.
