Hans Perrin was last seen around 9:20 p.m. April 28. On April 29, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a welfare check at the dead-end of Saxon Road in Acme, for a suspicious circumstances after loggers reported finding an unoccupied vehicle parked in the middle of the gravel logging road. Deputies checked the residence of the registered owner and found the home locked and unoccupied.

Hans' truck, found around mile 4 of the Saxon logging road, was parked in the middle of the unpaved street. His dog was found around mile 3, and his keys were found along the riverbank about three-fourths of a mile down Thousand Puddles Trail.

Here is the AllTrails page for Thousands Puddles Trail (also called the Edfro Creek Trail): https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/edfro-creek-trail

Under the information about parking and accessing the trailhead, it says "Parking is on the shoulder at the end of Saxon Rd." so it sounds like Hans' truck was in the general area of that.

It sounds like there is a lot of water in the area. The trail description says: "There are several places where you can access the river. There is a fork about .5 miles in to avoid what is at least a swamp and often a full pond. On the way back make sure you don't go straight or you will have to come back unless you brought your waders."
