Exactly. Early on, right after she passed there was a "rumor" that neighbors heard her crying a lot when dad was home too. My personal opinion is they are both guilty. She's taking all the responsibility because she would do less time in prison than he would because of his past violent record. He even went to her bond hearing after her arrest and spoke on her behalf to the judge. Then did an interview with the news telling everybody not to place blame on her. The he lawyered up and it's been quiet since. Absolutely disgusting and incredibly sad.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - A Bellingham woman on trial for the death of her boyfriend’s 3-year-old daughter told the court she and the child shared a loving relationship. Kamee Dixon took the stand for the second day– sharing memories of what she claimed were happy times with Hazel Holman.

The 3-year-old is the daughter of Brandon Homan, Dixon’s boyfriend. Homan gave testimony Tuesday and Wednesday.

During Thursday’s trial, Dixon walked the court through a series of videos and pictures of her and Hazel. She talked about how Hazel loved getting "dolled up" with her in a "pretty dress." Dixon also testified how she was raising Hazel right along with her own son.

The court also heard statements virtually on Zoom from Dr. Evan Matshes, an anatomic pathologist and forensic pathologist based in California. He was called upon by the defense to give testimony. Matshes said he traveled to Seattle to analyze Hazel’s bones, reviewed her autopsy report and more than 4,500 pages of documents.

Judge David Freeman dismissed the jury for the weekend. The trial is scheduled to resume Monday morning [6/13/22].

The court also heard testimony from the defense’s witness Dr. Satish Chundru, a forensic pathologist based in Texas. He told the jury he reviewed Hazel’s autopsy reports conducted by the King County Medical Examiners Office. He claimed to have previous experience reviewing multiple cases that were ruled incorrectly.

Chundru said accusations of abusive head trauma in Hazel’s case are wrong, and believes there could be a medical reason to her brain injury.

The defense contends Hazel’s death was not the result of abuse, but rather an accident of choking on food causing the injuries that led to her death. The prosecution contends her final, deadly injuries can only be explained by abusive head trauma.

I think Q13 Fox waits till the days end to report what's happening during the trial. So not sure who will take the stand next. It's weird that a case of child death isn't getting more coverage,and that CPS is so silent. MOO

I was thinking since Dixon testified & then the pathologist the defense probably rested after that. Just wish there was more media coverage. I too am surprised it isn't getting more coverage. And yes, CPS is quite silent!!
