I am still wondering about the previous search of the trash cans. In the presser the guy makes it very clear that the neighborhood was canvased and searched previously. I believe the reporter even asks more than once if this was an area that was previously searched. He says yes and she asked if they or how they were missed. He says he's not sure but will be talking to people.

I'm really interested to know if cops can possibly just open the cover and look in but not dig around? Perhaps they were looking for white bags with orange handles only? Would it possibly fall under probable cause or special arrest as attached below? It seems like he would have said "we searched the area but were only able to search the bins still at the curb" if that were the case???

I don't recall the kids comment. This neighbor was an older gentleman, who was very distraught, and was saying how he had seen JC at the home on several occasions and he had gained her trust. Something like that. IIRC

The broadcast I saw was a guy with glasses. He said he had seen him there a few times and one time with kids. Maybe these people want their 15 min of fame. It's hard to know what to believe.

On one of his dating profiles it did say he had kids.

Police said they then pulled several garbage trucks off their routes to be emptied and searched for possible additional remains.

Gordon Hill, Charlton's public defender, has said no forensic evidence links Charlton to the crime.

When she saw the garbage truck stopped in the middle of the street, Speck first thought it was having mechanical problems.
"But in the back of my mind I'm like, 'I hope this isn't what I was reading about last week' with that lady," Speck said.

Thank you. I mentioned day labor as well and proposed he dumped her remains there because it was familiar.
It will be interesting to see what becomes of the search of the house.

It's clear that the search warrant house is not surrounded by crime scene tape. So this had to be before the search warrant was executed.

What triggered the search warrant for that house instead of any others on the block? Did the bins belong to it?

Also in the video is a shot of a different house having some renovation done on it. I think it is the house visible with the blue tarps in the aerial photography.

I just drove by the house (it's not far from my office downtown.) It doesn't seem abandoned It's at least a duplex. (Two addresses.) A car was in the carport. No crime scene tape. There were more than a few people coming home from work. A lot of bins were still out at the curb in front of houses. I saw one guy pulling his in. I have a feeling that unless he is following the local news all day at work he probably had no clue remains were found in his block. It's a mixed street. Some nice renovated house and some definitely not.
