Has there been any word?
Hi All,
Thank you so much for the loving messages !
@ChatteringBirds from what we know he left some (but important) of his belongings in Seattle . There was a photo taken of him leaving a parking garage in Seattle and leaving a Dunkin 20 miles away from Seattle. However there was no photo evidence after that. His car was found in the Atwater Village area of LA with some of his luggage and a journal . LAPD took his car and his belongings . They said they would do some fingerprinting. We haven’t heard anything since . They seem to believe it was non-violent crime and therefore haven’t done much to find him.
Thanks for keeping us posted, Jared tugged at my heart and I send my best to his loved ones.Hi All,

Hi ! I was just on a reddit thread that mentioned the same thing . I believe this was information that was given to us from the PI group. We’re not familiar with Seattle , so this is a surprise for me to find out that there aren’t any Dunkins over there.Hello! One clarifying question: There aren't any Dunkin locations in WA state. Was he seen leaving a different donut shop 20 miles from Seattle, or was he seen at a Dunkin outside of WA?
Okay circling back to this because I was able to locate the messages in the group chat . So I think I made a mistake when typing this out. He was seen leaving a garage in Seattle, a traffic cam took a photo of him 20 miles south of Seattle and he was also seen at a Dunkin in Atwater Village ( CA) not far from where his car was found.Hello! One clarifying question: There aren't any Dunkin locations in WA state. Was he seen leaving a different donut shop 20 miles from Seattle, or was he seen at a Dunkin outside of WA?
Sending my caring thoughts to you and all of Jared's loved one.Hi ! I was just on a reddit thread that mentioned the same thing . As an update , Jared has been spotted multiple times. The police barely helped us look for him. Most of the information we received was from our own investigation. What made me start this all back up again was a redditor commenting his arrest records. I started searching and calling courts in WA and Oregon to find out that he has been arrested for trespassing and stealing food due to homelessness. Two women reached out to me last summer and mentioned that he didn’t seem mentally well but he was surely a kind soul. However once they identified who he was , they never saw him again. His friend Kathy and I have been trying to reach out to the public defenders in his cases but have yet to receive a response. We already recieved confirmation from the mental health court that if we can get his lawyers to contact them, they will try to get him mental health services. However , every time he gets arrested, he is released right back on to the streets.
Seeing photos and hearing of his current condition is heartbreaking. He’s been through a lot and had pressure on him to become a lawyer. Right before he left he told me that he didn’t want work in law anymore and that it was his family’s dream not his. He loved writing and did part-time work as a journalist covering music events. He told me he wanted to work on a book. Something that is bugging me is that he read a book that he so closely related to and I can’t remember which one it was. My mom believes he’s following Wild by Cheryl Strayed.
I want to thank you all for caring about him years later. It feels like a piece of my heart is missing everyday. Jared is the kindest and smartest friend/ family member that I have ever had. He was always super passionate about helping the less fortunate (Civil Justice Clinic students Batra ’20 and Shadeed JD/LLM ’21 secure reinstatement of homeless client’s housing voucher) and to see him end up in the same predicament that he was fighting against is … sad. I am asking that if you live in the WA/OR area to please be on the lookout for him and encourage him to seek help.
