Unreal - she's SIX and no one thought to look for her before Sunday night?

No, No, No!!!! I have a 5 1/2yo and a 7yo, as well as 6 1/2yo, 5yo & 2 1/2yo nieces. I can't imagine not knowing where they are for any length of time, 24 hours is unthinkable!

I swear to god people are losing their minds maybe it's that solar flare NASA said almost destroyed the plant 2 yrs ago.
Who lets a 6 year old wander around 5 mins let alone a whole day by themselves?

Right? My kids are teenagers and there is no way that I would be okay with waking up to find one of them gone and not having a clue where she was all day. I would be on the phone to everyone I know, asking if they have seen or talked to her.

I've been reading some pretty nasty comments about the parents of this missing kid (on the FB local news stories) and I have to say, it's kind of a trip the conclusions people jump to. So the parents don't recall what she was wearing when she went to bed. I thought about that for a minute, and as a parent of 7 kids of my own (only 4 still living at home) I don't recall what ANY of them were wearing when they went to bed, and I said goodnight to all of them. I just have to wonder how common it really is to NOT notice what your kid was wearing when they went to bed?

This whole thing about wandering around in the neighborhood with friends, siblings, etc., might not BE as bad as it sounds. If they know where she is (at trailer #123, for example) or if they know who she's with, it's logical for them not to worry. I'm hearing from local friends & family that the park doesn't still have the same sketchy reputation as it once did (subject to opinion of course) so maybe the parents felt pretty safe letting her go down the street like that? MH parks are enclosed communities, and the only traffic is from people who live there so it's not like there's a ton of thru-traffic like on a regular road.

Not reporting her missing or not worrying until 8:30 last night though is a bit of a stretch for me (even while trying to give the parents the benefit of the doubt). If the parents slept in and she was nowhere to be seen it sounds logical they simply assumed she got up and went out to play like (apparently) she normally does. It just makes me cringe though how quickly her parents are being thrown under the bus. For all I know they ARE horrible, neglectful parents, but they might not be at all.

Just thinking outloud and hoping to hear some GOOD news today that she's found safe.

I wonder what the routine was in the house, and what happened that morning when she was gone.

I'm 54, and in my generation and all the generations before this one, kids DID go outside and play for hours at a time, returning when they were hungry. I wonder if the parents kind of tag teamed - or if there were older kids in the house capable of babysitting the younger ones while parents were away and somehow both parents kind of assumed she'd been back a couple times during the day. And only when it got dark outside did they put it together that she'd been gone all day.

When I was little my mom was up when I would have fixed a bowl of cereal and left the house to go play for the day - I wouldn't have left without saying I'm going out to play. I wonder if the parents slept so late that it was typical by the time they got up the kids had fed themselves and dispersed to friend's houses.

Ugh, this is my hometown and I know Steele Creek MHP very well. :( Correction, I used to know this park very well, but I haven't lived in Bremerton in 17 years. Back at that time, it did not have a good reputation, at all. I don't know if that's changed.

Is that the one off Waaga Way?

Yes, indeed. One of the happiest memories of my youth is playing outside and hearing moms throughout the neighborhood yell "Dinner!!!" to call in their kids. Certainly our parents didn't turn us loose to play outside because they were uncaring or unloving.

I also wonder what was routine for the household and the community.

Leaving aside my views on her parents, where does LE even begin to search? She's only 6, she's been missing since 10pm Saturday, she could be ANYWHERE by now. I don't care if this MH park is fenced or not, it's easy to sweep her out in a car. How many people live there?

I can't help but think of Jessica Lunsford :(

Yep, that's the one. I wasn't 100% sure because it's been a while but my mom just confirmed that was the same park my uncle lived in for a while. Maybe 30 years ago.

Another lifetime ago I owned a mobile home cleaning company and we did some work in this park, but not a lot. It's not very big but I can't recall offhand how many residences are in there.

Mmm. Latest reports says CPS removed two other youngest sibs from the home. http://www.kirotv.com/news/news/6-year-old-girl-missing-bremerton/ngtWG/ :(

"As detectives got into the investigation, they realized there was probable cause to remove two children from the house,” said Wilson. Wilson said he couldn't go into the reasons why the children were taken from the home, but said it was related to a case history with the family."

Okay, I retract my earlier "trying really hard to give the parents the benefit of the doubt" post. Clearly there is a history of either neglect or worse. :( Poor kid, I sure hope they find her today.

RSO ...10 listed within two moles of mobile home park. Are we allowed to post that?

The KIRO site is spelling her name 'Jenise'. Do we know which is correct- like an official LE flyer or bulletin to check?

There was a tweet from the KIRO site that indicated a live stream update...the tweet is on the KIRO site posted about 18 min ago. But I tried their live stream page and it said 'not available'. Anyone else have better luck?

When I was 6 my parents did not let me go off where ever. It was more like 12 and I still had to check in.

Obviously we have a ton to say about a certain pair. But I hope Janice is found today. I hope no perp was stalking her. I even wonder if Janice went to bed that night or was outside playing, since really she can go where ever it seems I am just really angry.

I took a super quick shower today because I didn't want to leave my 6 yr old alone to long. I mean like 3 minute and I was out.
