Sunnyside -- Family, friends, and community members joined together today to search for Jennifer Caridad.

Early this morning, the group met up at a gas station in Prosser to fill up before heading to the location in Hermiston where her credit card was last used and where she was last seen.

Jennifer went missing in August of last year, right around the time her boyfriend, Aurelio Escobar, went on a two-state crime spree that ended in a shoot out with Oregon Police.

Human remains discovered May 24 in the Granger area have been identified as a Sunnyside woman missing since August.

The identity of the remains was confirmed by a Washington state forensic odontologist, Curtice said in a news release late Tuesday morning. The manner her death is homicide, he said, and the cause of death is pending the findings of a forensic anthropologist.

A farmer working a field off Satus Longhouse Road found a human skull and called the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, said sheriff’s spokesman Casey Schilperoort.

"We have no idea where the body was dumped — maybe the body was dumped further away," he said. There's a canal bridge near where the skull was found, Schilperoort said.

"More than likely we will go out there to search more, to find out if more of the body is out there or not," he added. "Hopefully we do."

Such a sad outcome. I pray for comfort and peace for Jennifer's loved ones. They've waited so long for answers, yet they're still forced to wonder about and look for the rest of her remains.

Circumstances of Disappearance - Jennifer was last known to be going to pick up her boyfriend. Her vehicle was located at Burgland Lake in Yakima, WA. There was blood found in the vehicle, and her shoes were located in the area along with a tarp with blood on it.

Bones Found in Granger Identified as Missing Woman
