This is a case of a woman (Karen Bodine) who was strangled and left on the side of a busy road in Thurston County Washington. This case is 13 years old, however this news story is from 2020.

Anyways, I'm looking at evidence and details from multiple sources, and I was wondering if anyone could help me look into this more, or atleast provide any new information

Official source

Welcome to WS. I see you posted this in Cold Cases as well. I think you'll get more help over there. They're good at finding info etc.

Such a horrific crime. My heart goes out to her family.

Sorry I'm of no help, but think you will get some. Only the best to you.

No disrespect intended whatsoever to Ms. Bodine, but it sounds like she was sweet and maybe vulnerable in some ways, based on the information in the article. Sometimes groups of people up to no good turn viciously on someone they perceive as "soft". Bullying to the extreme.

Whatever happened to her, I am so sorry she was taken from her family in this way. May she rest in peace, and one day, may there be justice for this cruelty.

Yea, hopefully someday we can find out who did it, and hopefully get the closure the family deserves. And yea, while she may have been a bit vulnerable, that's what happens when your that nice of a person, hopefully she's in a better place now

Hello. I responded on your other post, but figured I’d also leave a comment on this one. I’m good friends with Karlee (Karen’s daughter). A lot of information was not released publicly, for obvious reasons. Let me know if you’d like to talk. Thank you!

There’s also a FB page if you want to check it out:

Hi! I hope you got my other message, but just in case, I'd love to talk with you about any non-disclosed details. I'm working on piecing together a story of what could have happened, and any details would be appreciated, thankyou for the help and I look forward to talking with you soon :)

Thoughts to the family of Karen Bodine.
I came across this case in "Still a Mystery" and read some articles. From what is presented by police services, witnesses said they saw Karen leave the residence at 3am. If these witnesses were participating in recreational drug use and or criminal activities, I would think they would protect themselves first. As in maybe they all said Karen left at 3am to dissolve them of any further incrimination? I mean conspiracy to lie to protect the group is nothing new, I would go back and interview all the witnesses. I am sure a drug induced state of mind and sixteen years later might draw some new clues.

Was it released what item was used for strangulation? Rope, leather belt, wire, nylon etc. Household item that was grabbed quickly or something industrious? used by a certain profession. Multiple DNA's were found on the weapon so maybe it was a commonly used item or a specific item.

I hope that this cold case will be reviewed and witnesses found for new statements, I think that is where they might find a crack that leads to conviction(s). Sadly, mental health issues are not always the same as criminal issues and I think police services could benefit from mental health prevention training to see the differences.
