Suspect in teen's murder held on $1 million bail

A 22-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 19-year-old Renton woman.

A King County Superior Court judge ruled Monday that Ezekiel Watkins be held on $1 million bail.

Prosecutors say Watkins confessed Wednesday to stabbing his ex-girlfriend Kathy Chou to death in April 2010 and then burying her in field near his home.

The girlfriend revealed to detectives that Watkins had told her the day after the murder that he killed Chou, but not to tell anyone.

The friend who knew what he had done to Kathy finally came forward after more than a year, because they were in a fight...I know there are lots more cases out there like this, where someone knows. Hoping more people will come forward, Kathy's family should not have had to wait and suffer for more than a year...
