This link provides the video and news item concerning neighbor Ella Morgan describing the often heard screams of little Koralynn.

The link below is the 911 call from neighbor Mary Stiltner when Reeder knocked on their door seeking help in "disguise of a witness." Her husband is a retired LE and attempted to perform CPR on the by then lifeless child.

The following remarks from the "Comments" section of the link are considered rumors:

Commentor says when he (Reeder) arrived at the Stiltner's he asked them to call 911 rather than call himself from home (and waiting until she was already cold to the touch and lifeless (deliberate purpose).

Says the day before he convinced Koralynn's mother that she did not need medical care because her injuries were "simple childhood injuries."

an arrest of Koralynn's mother is not imminent

Why not?! Why not child endangerment, child neglect or at the very least get her on the drugs!! Why is this woman not being held responsible?!!

  • #103
I think the arrest of the mother is coming - LE needs time to make an airtight case, I think they can do it with this one given the facts so far.

I'd rather see LE spend time building their case and then make an arrest rather than make an arrest and then try to build their case - I have read many times where a quick arrest does not go well as defense attorneys tend to get away with much bs on the 'rights' aspect regardless of the evidence. Jmo.

Well, this is exactly what I'm talking about. This woman NEEDS to go to jail if justice is to be done and to set preference for future cases. These women must be held accountable. Making them aware of danger signs will make it difficult for them to say they "didn't know". All public health offices, LE, and social services need to inform single moms of these danger signs and those that ignore it need to be nailed to the wall.

That was supposed to say presidence, not preference, stupid phone.

Rest in peace, little girl. My daughters were laughing and playing on Saturday. You should have been too.

I have thought about Koralynn's story a lot. I wish those who heard her crying and screaming would have helped. I believe Reeder got high; abused her; put her in the bath tub to clean her up, and passed out. When the jerk woke up, little Koralynn was dead. So no, they can't charge him with full murder. But I hope he rots for the rest of his life. As always, just my opinion. But maybe some day we will know the truth.

Hi RoseWhite ... Reeder may have been high, IDK ... I haven't seen any news item on that, all I know is he abused and tortured Koralynn until he killed her.

The mother was aware of his abuse to little Koralynn and did not report it to authorities, nor do anything to prevent the abuse, such as get him out of her house!! Why is she not in jail also???

I don't know if you have seen this news item with the coroner's report shown in the link:

Breaking news: Mother’s boyfriend held for investigation of rape, murder of Centralia child
Friday, May 25, 2012 at 5:00 pm

<snipped by me>

The filed declaration of probable cause describes significant bruising, cuts, abrasions and other wounds found on the child’s body, some in more advanced stages of healing than others.

Among the injuries noted were palm-sized pieces of skin missing from her buttocks, caused according to forensic evaluation, by traumatic injuries inflicted upon the child.

The declaration also mentions missing skin on the top and bottom of a toe, but offers no specific explanation for how any wounds were inflicted.

The pathologist’s examination found four distinct areas of head trauma, according to the declaration. Lewis County Coroner Warren McLeod said earlier today Koralynn died from that and drowning.

I'm sorry but I don't think Reeder was high. He is just a sick monster who got his jollies by torturing and raping an innocent baby. I hope he will know the fear Kora felt when he is in gen pop. The little wimp thought being in court was scary? Can't wait until some big bubba welcomes him to the big house!

I don't know how long we have to wait for Koralynn's mother to get what she deserves! We are not going to forget about you, Becky Heupel!!

This case makes me ill. :( :(

So in this http://www.chronline.com/article_1d7edc36-aa87-11e1-8692-0019bb2963f4.html#user-comment-area article on May 30 it states:
A search warrant of the home revealed marijuana and what police believe to be methamphetamine, Fitzgerald said. A warrant was issued for a blood drug test for Reeder; however, police do not know when the results will come back.

I wonder if they have the results back yet? I also wonder if they ever tested the mother as well.

Just to be clear, I don't in anyway think that being high is any sort of cause for leniency or excuse for this sick pig. I was just speculating a detail.

Oh I didn't think you were excusing it at all, RW :blowkiss: I just don't think he was high. He seems like a calculated sick freak that didn't want drugs to ruin the experience he set himself up for...I hope he rots in hell!!!

Mental evaluation: Suspect in death, rape of Centralia toddler found competent for trial
Tuesday, July 10th, 2012

CHEHALIS – A staff psychologist at Western State Hospital has concluded James M. Reeder is competent to participate in the court proceedings in his Lewis County homicide case, involving the alleged torture and rape of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter.

“Any of his previous symptoms that may have interfered with his ability to understand court proceedings or assist in his defense appear to have abated,” Dr. Ray Hendrickson wrote in the report.

Defense attorney David Arcuri did not state in court the reason for requesting the competency review, but according to the report, Reeder said he attempted suicide in the jail, trying to drown himself in the sink.

A trial is currently scheduled in October

He told the psychologist he has used, alcohol, marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine.

From your link:

the Centralia man has mild depression and anxiety, attributed to the legal situation he is facing.

Mild depression and anxiety from his "legal situation"??????? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

What about a bit of anxiety and depression because of the loss of an innocent life? What about any sort of remorse?? #$#^@#$^@# (okay, so later in the article it states that he "misses the little girl" and "can't explain what happened")

I want to add that this part of the article for an update

Reeder has not yet been arraigned, presumably that is the next step in his case. A notation in his court file says he will appear before a judge on Thursday morning.

A trial is currently scheduled in October.
