I know about zero for training to run distance myself. What you say makes perfect sense @dub I actually thought the same about taking the bike to train.

Still though, why did he get off and leave his bike? And where could he have gone? Hoping against hope he didn’t also want to train in the water.

I agree it is most likely :( This River is not one you can predict to be safe ever. I spent years on the Columbia on a sailboat, etc. One close call proved to me that even young and in great physical shape, you don't mess around. There are currents that will exhaust you quickly. My condolences to the loved ones of the person they found today.

For sure. I grew up in Portland, I don't have a ton of experience on the Columbia but enough to know it's no joke.
