I can’t tonight but will come back to this.

Me too. Need to see if there are other things about circumstances and whatever...

Wish we could see her teeth. I know this UID was found clear across the country but I thought of her when I saw it. She was 15-20, around 5'1", and the date of death could have been as early as 1980.

Unidentified Person Case

This news article labels Linda as a 'chronic runaway' A dozen people still missing in Yakima County which IMO was a common label to give missing girls in those days, but could indicate she was hitchhiking, or that she had an unhappy home life, or that she left permanently of her own accord, or all the above.

I found this UID and Linda is not listed as a rule out on Namus so I have submitted as a possible match:
UID UP5706 found Pierce WA August 1978 Unidentified Person Case

The dates and locations both line up.
Both women were white.
Age range matches.
Hair matches - long and brown
Height is out by 7 inches but in my opinion the other factors warrant this being looked into especially given the UID's remains were apparently not complete so the height estimation may have been incorrect.
We will never know if Linda is this UID. I emailed them about this UID and Donna Manson and they said that the Jane doe cannot be compared to any MP:(

I printed the dental records out so I have them in hand

They can be compared but the remains won’t ever be found again unless they dig up the Tacoma landfill

What?? So they’re saying they’re not even going to try and match this UID with anyone even though they have dentals? That doesn’t seem right.

I know it’s stupid. I’d ask CarlK to do a comparison but we don’t have linda’s dental chart

This photo was taken by Rodney Alcala - these girls look very similar and he is suspected of committing a murder in Washington the same year. What do you all think?

At first glance I agree there is a definite similarity! Looking at a side by side I'm not convinced they're one and the same though - looks like their cheekbones might be different?

But I do think it's worth submitting to the tip line for alcala (from memory there is quite a campaign to get tips to identify all the women in his pics?).

This is what jumped out at me right away... Their chins are quite different. Also if you look at their noses, the girl in the Alcala photo appears to have a knot, commonly present with a deviated septum.

I can definitely see the differences now that they are side by side and from what you've pointed out! Thanks both of you for putting things into perspective.

It depends on where Alcala was in 1978.

Why would she be going to school in Seattle?

I don't know, when i emailed the NamUs case manager she replied stating she would try to confirm with the investigating agency whether the photos can be added to NamUs. I have to assume the detective working Linda's case confirmed that they are in fact her.

Linda attended Lincoln high school in Seattle, Washington. I figured that it was the missing Linda Adams because the age range matched up, Linda was only 15 when she disappeared in 1978, and she did not appear in the 1978 or 1979 yearbooks. The pictures i found were from the 1977 yearbook.

The second photo of Linda is from the girls basketball team.

I found a Linda Adams in Ancestry yearbook for 1979
Name: Linda Adams
Estimated Age: 16
Birth Year: abt 1963
Yearbook Date: 1979
School: Lincoln High School
School Location: Seattle, Washington, USA
