Okay. Where's the photo with this one? Also, I didn't find any newspaper articles in the database I looked at.

Note, that Ted Bundy was working at a Seattle-area Safeway as of July 26th, 1968 according to the published timeline from the Bundy Multiagency task force. That puts him close to Sumner about four months earlier.

(I know that not every white woman that disappeared during Bundy's lifetime was disappeared by him but his proximity in time and space is still worth noting.)

One of his victims was blonde. I think that he chose women who seemed vulnerable. A lot of serial killers and other criminal types chose those who seem vulnerable.

I don't think so. A lot of the photos are black and white but Janice Ann Ott, for starters, looks blonde in her old photos. Also, Nancy Wilcox and Melissa Smith both look blonde.

I’ll have to do some more searching later, but if anyone would like to help find anything.

I think this is her family. It would have been around the time she Linda born (can’t find a birth record for her). The father was sentenced later that year to 20 years in prison for “indecent liberties” with at least one of his daughters.

I dont know, Mad McGoo, that article says there were three daughters. The daughters I've found for those parents were Phyllis, Shirley, and Nina.

Same...but I'm positive there were more shortly after that. Maybe before. I'm just having trouble finding sources to verify that. Nothing listing Linda as a relative...

When did the abuse occur? Not sure when that arrest article is from.

Could she be the Jane Doe found in Carnation (less than an hour away in 1969)? CASE NUMBER - 914UFWA. I know Linda is listed as having strawberry blonde hair but she could've dyed it?

I am not sure that the missing girl belongs to the family listed in #8 above. The family is shown in the 1950 US census and includes a daughter Linda, yet to reach her first birthday. But she is listed as Linda Louise Garrison and there are other records on Ancestry for what may be the same Linda Louise, confirming the second name. This means that either Linda Mary is from a different family or the missing information has her second name wrong. I do not know which it is.

The last time I checked Linda's NamUs page (on 10/30/2024) her current age was 74yo, and when I checked it again today her current age was 75yo. Furthermore, the clipping from the 10/11/68 copy of the Tacoma News Tribune listed her age as 18, while we know she went missing at the age of 19 on 11/19/68. So that puts Linda's birthday at sometime between October 31, 1949 and November 19, 1949 (inclusive)
For anyone still interested in trying to do Linda's ancestry or find anything else about her online ^^^

Linda was added to Doe Network yesterday. It lists her date of birth as "circa 1949".

"Circumstances of Disappearance

Linda left home after a horse ride on November 19, 1968."

5078DFWA - Linda Mary Garrison

Oh right, that was me! Recently I've been working on submitting cases to be added to the Doe Network, though because it takes a few days at least I tend to forget to check. I included my entire explanation of Linda's possible birth date that I made in the comment above (aka here) in the form; I guess they just summed it up as "circa 1949" lol
