I watched them search the waterway on both sides of the bridge...and they used poles and looked under the bridge. It was a team of 3 guys, in waders, and they also did a search along Summit Road where Wildcat Creek goes under the road. I drove past them when they were searching both locations: the area along Summit because I have to go by there to get to town, and the area of the ditch/bridge behind the Shell station.

Did they search "under the service station"?

I believe there are still posters up...for a missing lab. There was one at the 108 turn off from Summit, I'll see if it's there tomorrow.

I didn't make it in to town today to try and locate the area of JM's interview pics...so I'll try to get that taken care of too. I decided it was too nice of a day to leave my house when I had so much I needed to get done, and it was cool enough to actually work outside. I have an acre of blueberries getting ripe that I need to get picked before the birds do.

Many thanks McCleary, I'd like to see a photo of that poster the kids saw. Take your time, I am just thankful that you are around.

In the fuel tanks?

From descriptions, from the bridge to the gas station a stream exists, then it goes underground when the bushes end. This is my interpretation from maps provided. The stream goes downhill, to the end of the shrubs or trees, the goes underground from there, please correct me if I'm not interpreting things correctly, thanks

I can only think that an underground stream of water exists below the service station

  • #125
Am I completely misinterpreting the information about that stream between the bridge and the end of the bushes where the stream goes under the service station?

  • #126
I cannot recall the local who shared a map of the stream bed, but I am sure it was Cyber, and he indicated the specific area where the stream that SS refers to goes underground, under the service station. If any of this strikes a cord, please post the picture with the "yellow" indication of when the water goes under the service station, thanks

  • #127
I know that SS has always been concerned about that bridge and would like LE to check that underground place thoroughly, and if nothing comes from it, then that's the end of the matter

I am suspicious about just how thorough they have checked that place out, if I am interpreting the place correctly...a place "under" the service station

I think it runs under the empty lot to the north of the shell station...it can't run under the station itself because they put in the big fuel tanks and so on when they put it in...and that was recent enough that I can remember it.

Norm, is this the picture you are talking about?

We'd need to find a map of where the culverts are to be sure where the creek goes. I don't believe it is "under the Shell Station" because of the under ground tanks. I think there is also a regulation of how far away from water those tanks need to be (incase they leak).

Where this info can be found? No clue. Maybe the city website. Or maybe someone needs to call McCleary city department and see if they have any info.

The man I spoke with at the City Building dept was so Johnny on the spot about the creek and culverting system. When he said the culverts system had been searched not long after she went missing I simply believed him, that they would have found her if she had been trapped inside. I might be wrong, but I would think searching or looking thru culverts would be done by the maintenance crew for the city, not LE. Correct me someone if I am wrong.

What I think we need to really look at the 2 possible places for the scene of the crime and take a look-see at everything in that vicinity. We know that is between 5th and 6th on Maple and behind the PD station over to Sam's Canal where we learned that possibly her overshirt and a shoe were found. I just can't see this little friend of Lindsey lying about that. She heard it from someone, and it just has to be she has been interviewed by police as she was a close friend.

Back to the scene of the crime! That is why these officers spent 2 days searching the neighborhoods around KK and MB's homes. And the bridge. Even though they searched all the culverts, there still might be some clue still waiting there to be found. It could be where she was tackled down, and if they did find these items there, reexamining photos of the ground might shed a different light now that the search has been more thorough.

The old man 'Mark' who was quite vociferous in trying to let jvk know there was someone in town who didn't like Lindsey, I read he lives alone right now. Is it possible to track this guy and see how close he lives to where Lindsey could have walked that evening?

I set up a thread on my stepdaughter in the jury room so we can stay on topic...it's against crimes against steps in general.

Now back to Lindsey, she deserves her own space, and now everyone has their own. :)

I thought it was confirmed that no clothing or shoes were found. That was just rumor. Didn't someone talk to KK and find that out?

Just a note for thought. I can't see Lindsey walking to 3rd, hanging a right there, and then taking a left on Mommsen St to go home. I could see an older person doing that, but a young teen, I think she would take a more direct route to her house. More fun too!

Cross 3rd and walk around the north side of the Shell Station, walk back to the creek area and then she is really almost home. Cut thru the trees to her house.

Oh, I didn't hear that Jennifer. She has changed her stories so many times that I take anything she says with a pinch of salt.

ETA: O think the building dept must have maps of the culvert system but they are probably blueprints. That area running NE from the bridge, following the creek, is interesting. I wonder if they gave that area a total search right away? I seem to feel he had a car nearby , even at the park and ride, it that is where she was grabbed. IMO

Off to get my grandgirlie, will check back before bed. xox

I believe she said the kids in town had seen the article of clothing they were using for the scent dogs and assumed that was the clothing she was wearing when she went missing instead of just being something she had worn in the past.

Stupid question, since I am having a hard time keeping up with the media and everything else at the same time: when was the last official statement from LE where anything new was said? A little bit of silence makes me hopeful that something serious is happening. A lot of silence just makes me nervous.

  • #137
I must have missed the conversation with the man who said Lindsey wasn't liked? WHAT? That sounds highly suspicious, IMO! Does this guy have an alibi??? What a comment about a missing little girl!!!

  • #138
Kimster some of the reference to him might be on our dream threads. If I'm correct it was the "town drunk" (not my words) who offered up the info. I believe some posted he may not be reliable and others were taken back by such a recollection of an inappropriate description of Lindsey by an adult male. I think it was posted that he lives on the route Lindsey may have taken home. I hope I'm not steering anyone wrong, my memory is a bit faint but I remember my hairs stood up while reading this.

Quoting myself to say that since cyberspace ate the first thread, the replacement can be seen here:
Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

I will now stay firmly on topic.

The bridge I keep talking about is the wooden one at the far end of the Park and Ride nearest to Lindsey's home and not the cement culvert "bridge" with the cyclone fence.

McCleary said it was searched with poles and guys in waders so I guess I will hush about it now.
