Mike,

Lindsey disappeared sometime around 9:15 pm. Her mom didn't start looking for her until around 10 pm. That's 45 minutes that someone had to get out of town. And then it was another hour before the mom even called the police.
Honestly, they could have taken her in any one of a hundred directions. Depending on if they knew the logging roads or not. If this was a local.. Lindsey will be found someplace in the wooded area around McCleary. I don't think she was taken far. The perp could have taken her to the woods done what he set out to do (sorry, I just can't bring myself to type what I fear he did) and be home in bed before the police ever started searching the town.

I know there used to be SOs in Malone but I haven't been around there since the 90s (my parents owned the store there in the 80's and 90s so I knew a lot of people) so they may have moved on by now.
Malone doesn't have a tavern.. nearest one is in Porter or Elma.

Welcome to WS, Mike!! Great photos and the theory sounds plausible. The casino probably has a big draw from the outlying communities on the weekends.

I still wonder about who the people were in the McCleary tavern that afternoon and evening. Did LE even make an effort to talk to all of them?

By the way~ If you have an 18yo daughter...your sanity is not in question as it is definitely gone. ;) Give it a couple of years and it should return tho. LOL

hahaha probably should keep tabs on my sanity anyway. My daughter questions it regularly. She's got 18 years experience figuring me out. I was not flying when I took those pictures. But I regularly do my work solo. I'm good at it.

snipped for space

Hi Mike and welcome to the board!

I don't know how far back you have read, but the casino was mentioned quite awhile ago as a possible destination for the perp. It has also been mentioned that McCleary is sort of a junction right there. There is access to highway 8 to the south and an interstate just north of town, that anyone traveling through could take. The junction is also the potential area Lindsey was taken from.

I won't be around much for the next couple of days, but everyone hang in there! I am taking my daughter to county fair today, she is performing in a little skit. She's 5 and loves to be up on stage. :)

You will be missed, Cyber~ Tell her to "Break a leg!". Have fun~

Hi mikeb ~ Welcome! What a great job you have. Beautiful photo's, we would have liked to have seen something not even as close come out of LE daily press briefings. Didn't happen -

What's the name of that Casino and the name of the town it's in? It's on an Indian Reservation?

Take a wander over to http://www.familywatchdog.us/Default.asp

Type in Malone WA location search box area, and when the map pops up use the directionals to venture in any direction. You can actually map into the various routes to the Casino from Malone. It'll hit the SO's in the area with either red or green - click on it, and it will show and tell you who they are.

To answer your question about one in Malone, not directly, but they're everywhere in the small radius including and up to the Casino.

They are all around our Angel Lindsey ~
and all our babies, for that matter :(

Ya, but I bet there's a whole bunch of them that come out of that nest they have up there in Shelton and head down to that Casino. Or, do they have one in Shelton as well?

Little Creek is between Shelton and McCleary. I'm not sure if there is a casino closer to Shelton or not.

Hi Mike! Welcome to Websleuths! Thank you for the great photos! Ummm, who was driving, while you were shooting those? Tell me you have a co-pilot, and I won't worry so much about you (or your sanity).

I have wondered what kind of communication there is between Tribal Police and other local law enforcement agencies in the area: do they share information on a regular basis, say, on area sex offenders? I'd like to think they all work together on everything, but really have no idea. And now my head is full of questions like how many RSOs are Native Americans? If one of these lives on tribal land, does the state of Washington also count (and list) him/her as an offender in the state registry? Who investigates serious crimes on reservations, and where are those criminals housed? My sense is that there are definite divisions between agencies, but my only experience of that comes from living through three seasons of wildfires here in San Diego, watching  firefighters work together on TV.

You can relax, Mike. I don't expect you to know the answers to these questions just because you mentioned the casino! Your post was just the prod I needed to remind me to go find some answers myself. If I come up with anything interesting, I'll let you all know.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Crimes committed on Indian land are under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, FBI, tribal police, state police, local police.

Little Creek Casino is right at the end of HWY 108 where it meets HWY101. 108 heads right out of the north side of town where the aerial photos started back a few pages. I did some searching out HWY 108 from McCleary last night. There are alot of random "dumping grounds" out that way..I have a few phone pictures if I can find my card reader...

Whats your email address I will send you a pic of David Gerard. I have it from way back.

  • #498
How interesting that folks are still talking about David Gerard! I also knew him, back in the 90's while I was attending GHC. I only found about what he did last March and I really gotta say...He was a very polite cool guy from a family of good people. Im really tempted to write him but I dont know what to say. He once told me I took good care of my kid and did cool stuff like go to college instead of being a tavern-trick! I got nothing but respect from David. Just a friend.

Lola.. if you seen the list of the things David has done you'd think twice about writing him..

MOO.
