I pray Lindsey found a comfort zone out of the elements. We all know how severe the storms were last night. If someone knows where Lindsey is please come forward. Hopefully you read hear so you know how many people care about her, near & far. After yesterdays weather we know time is not on Lindsey's side as winter is approaching. Thousands read post here so if anyone has information please join and help everyone locate her.

I know from reading other sites that their are several trains of thought concerning the scent dogs. I was wondering if someone could post an individual map for each staement of where the scent may have hit. It becomes confusing in a loose format. Anyone else think it could be a good thing to look at or is this water under the bridge & not necessary?

Breanna, I have not heard another word about another big search. I'll email them and see what i can find out.

Karen, there are three versions of the scent dogs.
1. Official-police told media/family that "no scent trail was found"
2. Private K9 searcher-said he tracked her someplace (I don't know if I can give out the details on that. I think that is something MB would have to tell if she wants it in the public)
3. Rumors-witness (a family member of MBs) says the LE dogs went down 6th and over to Cedar. Which is in the opposite direction of the Private K9 searchers report.

Which one is truth, I have no idea.

Email from KK:

Yes there is a search being planned for the 12th and 13th. I was hoping to know by now for sure where it was being held but no one has given me a solid answer. I believe though that it will be held at the park and most likely we will have to utilize the park and an RV.

M was down all day yesterday so I did not get the chance to talk to her but I did just send Linda an email so hopefully I will hear from her soon. If you don't mind you may want to send an email to M and see if she has talked to her uncle about showing up. - Sometimes she just needs a little push or reminder to keep her on track unfortunately though it doesn't seem to work when I do it. Did she give you her card with email? If you didn't get one of them with her email address on it her email addy is <email removed by me> - that email was set up for everything related to Lindsey so it is the one checked regularly.

Let me know if I can help in any way. TTYS
KK

Unfortunately I personally will not be able to help out on the 12th. My daughter has a soccer game from 11 to around 2. That pretty much eats my whole day. I should be able to make it the 13th.

Since we have such few clues to go on, at this point, speculation and gut feelings are about all we do have. Eventually through this process someone may indeed propose the circumstances under which Lindsey actually disappeared. This may even help in bringing her home. So I have no problem with gut feelings like yours that at least fit the few facts that we have. I am not endorsing wild speculation that points fingers at anyone, just speculation of a possible scenario.

Distracted, not sure where you are from, but people that live here, at some time in their lives most likely venture a ways into the woods. I know I have to go hiking, fishing or hunting. Since we don't know the background of the perp or perps, it's hard to say exactly where Lindsey is. With a 4 wheel drive or quad runner they could have gotten quite a ways and in a reasonably short amount of time.

However, since no one has come forward to say that someone they knew did something out of the ordinary, or was gone for an unexplained period of time during Lindsey's disappearance, it stands that if it was a local, Lindsey was not initially taken a long ways away. That person would have had to have been back in an amount of time that would not have raised suspicions. So hopefully LE has been looking at anyone who may have had unexplained time away even a few days after she disappeared, in case she was moved farther away later.

I don't know what LE is working on, but hopefully they have worked up some possible scenarios and are following those out to see if they can get a lead in the right direction. I am sure they are paying attention to the results of the searches, but it would be nice if they would at least comment on the searches and some of the areas tagged as "checked out" or not. Surely they understand that their silence is deafening. Even if they don't have any new leads, it would be nice of them to at least comment on the searches and keep Lindsey's name in the papers.

I'm a southern California girl. There aren't many woods to wander off into around here. I was thinking about someone taking her into the woods on foot but you are right about the possibility of an off-road vehicle taking her just about anywhere.

When you look at the statistics of child abductions, the overwhelming majority are by family. There has been a rash of attempted stranger abductions in the last year or so all along the pacific coast. It does make me wonder if there is a link.

I also wish that LE would say something! Anything at all. The silence is deafening.

ETA: Scandi, thanks for taking the frog out of your coffee cup! LOL

Wish we had at least one of the reporters from Grays Harbor posting here. Maybe they could report the scuttle but going on in the investigation. Open invitation from the Lindsey Team anytime. This is the most closed off investigation I'v heard of recently. Sometimes when LE has been this quiet from the beginning they are putting together leads to get a fluent investigation going. If they have recieved as many leads as we have heard on the net, their foot work is cut out for them. I believe they do care as the initial search was massive and the second search may have had an alterior motive. In my perfect world I wish the investigation had the same swiftness as the crime committed. Yes I'm pandering again to anyone who has info. to turn it over to FBI.

LOL I should have known there was no COINKYDINK with that froggie I thought was a marshmello in the cocoa!

The possibility of an off road vehicle being used can't be tossed out IMO as there are so many in that area what with Straddleline {sp} park there and all the logging roads to drive them on.

But I think it was said here a regular vehicle could go on those roads with ease. The Elma Jane Doe was found off a logging road that was graveled. If this person took her for tawdry purposes, I can't see him driving her far from where he abused her. I say that because all the cases I've studied w/ sexual purposes involved, end up with the body being dumped without being hidden away. In water, a field, behind a fence, etc, rarely buried unless with leaves or tree limbs. That is because what they wanted is completed and now they just need to get rid of the body. They won't be suspected so aren't worried about being caught.

I hope this isn't what happened to Lindsey, but after 2 months it looks grim at best. I still think she was put not far off a logging road north of town.

PS: I know she wasn't put in the water tower, but that winding road always haunts me. So close and yet far enough away, dark and yet enough light to see with the big opening in the trees, maybe frequented by partiers or lovers, but seldom enough to where the chance no one else was around would be pretty good for the amount of time it would take to walk into the woods a ways and get out of there.

It could have been RUMOR, but I read somewhere very early on the dogs hit on her up there. I think she had been up there sometime and could also be where he took her initially. IMO xox

Thanks for that post Jennifer. I was just about to start compiling that info ;}

I believe #2 is probably dependable. I think LE put the kabash on anything learned from the dogs by saying a 'scent TRAIL' was not found. We know they found her scent at the park as they said it was fading, right? I think that was reported before they realized it was printed. Someone told someone and it came out.

So we know they did find her scent but everything else from dog searches is being kept away from the public. And probably for good reason. With the FBI involved they maybe dictated that.

They'd have to have a specific reason to call in cadaver dogs, but I wish they had gone up the road to the water tower and off into the woods there. I know they searched the area {the man in the Bldg Dept in McCleary told me that}, but don't think it was with dogs.

Scandi, I had heard that rumor too.
The water tower area has been searched numerous times. My husband and I searched it yesterday before hitting the other logging roads in the area and I know it's been searched a few other times before us.

Thanks Jennifer, and Kudos to that great hubby of yours. The logging roads N of McCleary and going up towards Shelton, are they mostly graveled off the Hwy?

The Jane Doe found out of Elma was a bit different scenario. No big hunt was done for her that I remember. I think her husband reported her missing and so LE had very little to go on, her body found several years after death by mushroom pickers. Who ever took her there walked her down off the logging road and even hung her shirt up on a tree limb. Like they were there for a bit maybe. With Lindsey I think it was over pretty quick, within an hour or so after she was taken. xox

To add to this Jenn, I just talked with Linda (Amber Dubois' aunt). She confirmed she is coming up here this weekend to help organize the search. It will be the 12th-13th and searcher's need to be at Beerbower Park by 9:00 am.

It would be nice if they could get a donated motor home to do paperwork etc., I'm looking into that for her.

Our conversation was short but she's going to get in touch again and throughout the week. I asked if there was a flyer regarding the search and she said either her or Kara will do one.

I know she doesn't have internet right now but she said she will try and get on and post and do some other stuff.

That's all I know right now. I don't know what they need or what they already have.

I'll try and get more information ASAP.

Maybe if some here are posters on other forums they could help spread the word. Hopefully there will be an official announcement and some information in the news outlets.

Yup. Since I opened my eyes.

Where are you sweetheart?
Somebody knows something.

Wouldn't it be great to have Kathie Belich on this case? There has to be a hungry reporter out there.

I just got back from a meeting with our daughter's Kindergarten teacher. While I was there I asked her a few questions about how they were going to address the situation involving Lindsey, about school staff and construction workers.

Where Lindsey is concerned, they are going to discuss personal safety, stranger contact and the teacher said she believes that McGruff the Crime Dog is coming in to an assembly they are having for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This will also address personal safety. However, since some of the children in both of the Kindergarten classes knew and live very close to Lindsey, they are not going to mention Lindsey's name for fear it would upset those students. Instead they will address the issues of personal safety in the those classes along with having them attend the assembly. Each class will also instruct the children on who is a trusted figure and who should not be.

Children in the 4th grade and up will discuss what happened to Lindsey and I was told they have a program for them for addressing it as well.

I asked her about staff at the school, right down the janitor. She told me that everyone employed at the school, had to pass a background check. She also showed me her pictured badge, these were not cheap black-and-white photo ones on paper, but printed plastic ones with full color pictures attached to a lanyard. She stated that anyone on school grounds must display one or they have to wear a guest pass. You are not allowed to pick your child up by just driving up to the playground either. The playground has an 8 foot cyclone fence and that area has 2 staff members who will be manning it at all times that children are present. They were also very careful to ask us where the children are to go after school and who's place that will be.

If you will be helping out in the class, chaperoning on a field trip or anything involving the kids, you must pass a WA State Patrol background check and it must be on file at the school.

So this brings us to the construction workers. Each one was required to have a background check. You will be interested to know that a number of them did not pass. However, the school made it very clear that anyone not passing, was not allowed to work on the school grounds and those people were told to find other work. So anyone who worked on the construction crews, had to pass a background check or they were not allowed on site. I was very happy to hear that.

Thank you for the update.. I can't find Lindas email address or I would have emailed her too (I had it on the same paper as yours but I can't find it. Mind sending it to me?)

Are you going to be there this weekend?

  • #577
That's good news Cyberswept, that everyone is being so vigilant.

The thing that is so worrying though is that somebody may have committed a crime before but not been caught, and their record only LOOKS clean. It's deceiving! Or they may have never done anything criminal before now.

I wish there was a special detector machine to tell if people had "potential" to do bad stuff. Grrrr...!

Jenn, check your email. I believe I sent you three emails :)

I noticed on the way to Tacoma today as I was driving toward Olympia on 101 that there are some poster/fliers/banners on one of the overpasses between Mud Bay and Black Lake Blvd. They're pretty good looking, but hard to see. Does anyone know who put them up and if there's a way we can get them somewhere more visible?
