Tacoma Police Search For Toddler Kidnapped By Uncle

Police are looking for 24-year old Omari Lateef Degruy, who was last seen driving an older, gray Oldsmobile after allegedly abducting his two-year old nephew.

The boy is identified as Azeal M. Degruy.

They say that at about 4:30 p.m. Friday, Degruy was seen leaving 64th Street in Tacoma with the boy in the car. They think he was headed to either Seattle or Portland.

The adult is idescribed as a black male, 5'11", thin build, last seen wearing a worn brown leather jacket and gray shorts. Degruy has a valid Oregon identification listing an address in Portland, Oregon.

Police say the has a history of mental illness and drug abuse and should be considered dangerous.

Because police don't have a license plate number for the car, they cannot issue an Amber Alert.

Azeal M. Degruy is black, and was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and blue shoes at the time of his abduction.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 and the number listed below. Refer to TPD case number 092681004 (253) 830-6562

Hi TakeNote, IMO yes, it is the house at the bottom of your photo. I noticed there was a piece of yellowish tar paper sliding off the end of the roof, in fact almost half off and hanging down with one corner folded over.

I think I am in a state of shock at the great strides the investigation is taking. I am just so thankful things are moving now. Sometimes it just takes a bit of time like we see in several of the cases we are following now. And to all our die-hard and devoted locals, my heartfelt thanks for all your good works. :blowkiss:



O/T ~ I know this isn't the dream/visions thread, but on the map on pp#2 here I almost fainted when I clicked and saw 'A'. It is plunk in the middle of a very bright green field and surrounded on one half by a forest of green trees. The green field forms almost a perfect half-circle up against the trees. Just what we searched so hard for and by gum, besides being where they are searching this weekend, it fits the bill for the possible perfect landscape seen by one of our resident posters in her simply amazing and maybe fortuitous dream. xoxoxoxoxo

Hi Kimster. I heard different stories today. One was that they had a generator and were working through the night, the other was that they were halting for the evening and resuming in the morning.

I really have no idea which it is. We couldn't get close enough. But if you believe Komo4 news...they will resume searching in the morning.

Seems like multiple stories are the norm in this case :banghead:

Is he still stateside? I haven't kept up with the search for a few weeks, so please excuse my stale questions! Thanks!

They will probably keep a few men there overnight just to guard the place unless they uncovered some major evidence today. I could see them continuing the search without stopping in that case.

I was very glad to see them focused on a specific location and have enough to obtain the search warrants. It means they have direct information of some kind and it could be the break they needed to move this forward to find Lindsey. Thank Goodness.

Breanna, both of those statements are probably true. They would keep it lit and have a generator going even if they are not searching through the night.

eta: I just turned on Northwest Cable News and right out of the box was Lindsey's case. They said they are not searching tonight but the sight is being guarded by deputies and that it was new information that came to light which has prompted their search.

I was so taken with Melissa tonight. She was quite forthright in a graceful way and has lost weight, so gave a wonderful presentation for Lindsey I thought. I saw her in a much different light. Ya Ya

I have been very negligent, getting caught up in the breaking news of Annie Le and then Haleigh.

From what I understand one parcel has that delapitated ramshackle house with outbuildings on it and is vacant. The other parcel has a house that is occupied by a family of 4 and they were removed from the home so LE could do a thorough search of everything.

Makes one wonder if the lady who owns both properties is one of the 4 people or a relative. It seems to me LE is concentrating more on the parcel with the family of 4.

Yes, it is a fair assumption we are all scared about the outcome. The fear is tempered with the understanding it is moving towards justice for Lindsey and her family. Bringing her home is the first and most important step.

Your photos and trips in the sky have provided valuable resources in helping find Lindsey. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed by anyone. Thanks again for all you have done and continue to do.
