I will be at the center this weekend and will keep a candle lit for Amber! i pray to God she comes home soon~! both of these girls deserve to be back with their loving family.

I agree with what you are saying, but the truth is it shouldn't have to be that way. Unless something is done and the laws and penalties are changed we will continue to have to live in fear, as prisoners living shielded lives, while the SO's continue to roam free. There needs to be a change. We need more laws to protect the children and the innocent people of this country, instead of the laws that are protecting these SO's. JMO.

You are soo right - we will always have to watch over our children for one reason or another but it is about time (as I believe RoseWhite mentioned earlier too) that these freaks had to live in fear and actually had to face real consequences for taking our children's lives, innocence, freedoms and their sense of safety and security. As it stands right now they only chance facing a period of time locked up where they know they have a roof over their heads, food on their plates, are guarded, many get books, TV and other recreational privileges as well.

That to me does not sound like a punishment - throw them into general pop for that period of time and my opinion may be slightly different but something definitely needs to happen because things do need to change. It is far past time that the children come first and that their rights are more important if not at the very least equally as important as these SO's.

I was so tempted to run over a offender of 14 crimes agianst a child under 14 whom just moved here less then 2miles from my home. How is it he is on the street! way to go Citrus County!

what has really pizzzed off my hubby and I......

just a little while ago.....like a month or so......

a neighbor lady (not my neighbor)....but a good neighbor mom was helping another neighbor mom by watching her child before/ or after school....she walked the kids to the bus stop.....

she was arrested because she didnt have a child care license ????

now if that doesnt tell you that there is somthing wrong with the way our laws are ran.....with all the sicko's out there....a friend/neighbor is not allowed to help each other out....help keep an eye on each others kids.....its not like she was running a daycare...making money to support her self with.....she was doing a favor...giving a helping hand....being a good neighbor....caring....gzzz...


oh....i wanted to add.....who would turn this lady in?.....why would someone even care?....doesnt make since....!!

Agreed, it should'nt have to be that way but untill the laws and penalties are changed I believe we as a society need to be much more protective of our children. The climate of the world is very volatile, people mock our legal systems and penalties. I don't feel as safe as I did even 20 years ago, and I certainly would not feel safe allowing my children to walk about nor would I trust the goodness of others (strangers passing by) to protect them.
My feelings about what should be done with the perpetrators are quite strong
I feel that those who commit violent sexual and or murderous crimes should recieve the death penalty. Not years of appeals sponging off of an overtaxed society, but death, an eye for and eye so to speak.
Furthermore I belive all felons should be forced to do hard labor while spending time in prison after all for some it's like they are winning a ghetto type lottery, free rent free food free medical free dental, electricity, showers, laundry ect.
You and I have to work to have these basic necessitys and they just have to be a boil on society's *ss and it's all provided. Im tired of a legal system that gives more rights to the criminals that to the victims too. Im also tired of criminals having no respect or fear of the consequences I think if one could truely expect the death penalty for commiting a crime it might actually deter them and is'nt that at least part of why we have laws? to deter?
Im not saying I think it's fair we no longer live in a safe world Im saying it's a harsh reality and Im tired of seeing these precious children become victims and WE as parents have to try harder to protect them.

I went to get groceries today which is 3.5 miles from my house. About 4 blocks from my home, I saw a small boy walking by himself...about 8-10 years old. About 6 blocks from the grocery store, a young girl about the same age walking alone. I thought to myself....why?? Through the whole drive, it was all residential up to the block of the shopping center. Most of that distance, the homes were behind brick walls and, or high bushes.

Is it odd that MM's My space appears to have started on June 25, 2009 , the day before the disappearance? try blogs.myspace.com/cassidyred and see if it is a weird coincidence.

"The law creating the Amber Alert defines specific criteria, which include evidence of an abduction."

Is it a federal law or left to be interpreted by each individual state? I am confused. An Amber Alert was issued for Somer, but not for Elizabeth and not for Lindsey - although all the cases were similar in how they disappeared.

The AMBER Alert "requirements" are really just guidelines. Each state can interpret them as they will, or make changes. Some states are much more lax, while others are extremely strict.

I was just thinking of that case yesterday. It probably didn't occur to her to tell LE that the "kids just come over to play". How is LE or CPS going to prove otherwise? Children are still allowed to have company in the mornings aren't they? You don't need a license for play-dates do you?

Rough day today with searches - very small turn out. That is ok though because all of our core members are avid searchers so area still got covered and we will be back at it tomorrow.

Heads up for all you W/Sers - Tomorrow is Amber Dubois' B-day! and Monday marks 4 months for Lindsey please light a candle for them both.
