In January 2008, Twersky was promoted to the position of Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge (ASAC) in the Seattle Division, overseeing the Intelligence, Cyber and Administrative programs. In May, 2009, ASAC Twersky assumed responsibility for the Seattle Division’s Counterintelligence, Cyber and White Collar Crime programs.

Yes. He is over that Division.

Soooooo, should we be thinking that the FBI believes this to be internet related if he has been assigned to this case???

Maybe drunk Mark knows what he speaks of...

Police list signs of possible abduction suspects
10-year-old missing: McCleary ‘pretty much searched’ since Friday
Published: 07/02/09 12:00 am
<snipped>
As the days pass and searchers in McCleary find no sign of missing 10-year-old Lindsey Baum, investigators have to consider it likely that the child was taken from the street against her will, Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said Wednesday.

Lindsey disappeared Friday night after leaving a friend’s house to walk alone about a half-mile to her home on Mommsen Road.

The last person to see Lindsey was a resident driving though McCleary who saw her walking on Maple Street between Fifth and Sixth streets about 9:15 p.m. She was about halfway home, near the center of town.

We've got some great local posters on WS! However, there are other local posters (on other boards) who post incoherent, unbelievable, and inconsistent information.
The point is, just because someone is local, it doesn't necessarily mean his or her information is going to be helpful, and yet people tend to give locals more credibility than others.
At this point, this isn't so much a tragedy as a probable crime. Something didn't just "happen" to Lindsey. It's really looking as if someone did something to her. In that case, judging what people near to her are saying and how they are saying it is an important part of figuring out who might or might not have taken Lindsey. It's not a "witch hunt" to look at people when there's an unknown perp out there.

I wanted to WELCOME you too Gailrene and am glad you are here. And I am backing up what STEADFAST has said too and add one other thought.

Many of us think it was poor that KK posted info about what happened on a public forum and that another poster who knew Lindsay very well and had protected her at times also gave out info on a public King 5 comment section.

The reason for that is if LE wanted those details released they would have given us that info. Maybe they felt keeping details close to the vest would preserve the integrity of the case and hence the investigation. And that all helps in locating Lindsay ASAP because she could be somewhere in great danger. I hope that makes sense. xox

FIRST THING I noticed too!!!! Red flags all around. Who is this family friend??? Maybe he/she/they hung around K's house waiting for LBaum to leave for home...just seems odd to me.

About me- Long time lurker, rarely a poster. I am a WA resident too (Seattle area)...familiar w/ Olympia, Tumwater, Aberdeen...but not McCleary. If I hear any news on this I'll jump out of the woodwork and share :-)

I have TOTAL confidence this one will be solved, and much sooner rather than much later.

Hard to tell. He could just be the one who is in charge of the area and responsible to take the case even if it doesn't have anything to do with that particular area of his expertise.

LE has been known to put out there whatever they want the perp to hear. It's all about finding Lindsay first, right? xox

Excellent point, Scandi~

We should probably include on that suspect list:

Anyone who has gotten rid of their computer.

Anyone who has wiped out their hard drive in the past few days.

Anyone who has suddenly developed a need to password protect their computer from their spouse recently.

Anyone who has deleted their Facebook, Myspace, or other networking site pages.

Here is the link to their profile. It sounds very plausible to me.

Someone on that thread mentioned an uncle of the little girl she was going to visit and that he was a body builder. Anyone have a clue on where he lives or who he is? There was also a mention of other people being in the home when Lindsey left her friend's house. Is this a fact or are we into rumor territory?

do you mean he works with cyber crimes?

TakeNote It was in the bios I posted on Ronald T. the FBI special agent in charge of the case!

(story time)

DSCF2045.jpg

Right after snapping this photo i was approached by 'Mark the (apparent) local drunk. He was quite intoxicated & slurry.

He asked what i was doing and i told him.

He was a bit 'chatty' and slurred out a few things.

Mark portrayed 'Peter' (iirc) (the owner or worker of the Jewelry shop ^, on Maple) as not having a 'great opinion of Lindsey &/or the Baum family. "~That girl was up to 'things'" (Lindsey)

Mark also didn't have such a great opinion. Mark mentioned being aware Lindsey was on the internet. He generally & repeatedly came off disliking Lindsey &/or the family.

Mark added one other thing. Mark said he believes 'Eric' (who lives (according to Marks pointing) in the North-Eastern part of town) 'probably did it' (as in abducting Lindsey) Mark said Eric had conversed with him (@ an unknown time) about 'young girls.

The conversation was strange.. but you couldn't expect much else. At one point he stopped talking almost like he'd just realized he's telling all this to a stranger & briefly thought twice.

If nothing else i'd suggest an interview with persons from this ^ Jewelry shop.

Its amazing what alcohol can do to someone. I would not nessaseraly dismiss the things he says. I think it should be reported. Alot of times people get loose lipped when they drink or don't think smart, If he is involved or knows someone who is involved he would be more willing to give up that information when he is drunk. Alot of times street people know alot but are dismissed because they are "street people" or "drunk". This information definatly needs to be reported, ASAP!!!

Add to the list,
Anyone whose sleeping habits have taken a strong turn for the worse; sleeping less, sleeping more, sleeping odd hours.

Anyone whose drug or alcohol habits have increased or begun since Lindsey went missing.

Anyone who has involved themselves with LE even in a peripheral way, since Lindseys disappearance, especially if they have no special skills pertinent to helping or if they are the type to usually avoid LE.

-Nothing earth shattering but the blip gives some insight into the lack of manpower etc...as well as the sense that the town is tight knit and that people watch out for their neighbors...also includes a brief quote from KK.

Makes me sad as I used to walk the half mile home from my best friend's home at night just fine all the time...makes me not want to ever let my (future) kids out my sight :-(

A couple of things I noted on Wesley's page: There is a photo of a woman's lips in various colors with candy stuck to them. He made a weird comment about it. The other is a post from a guy of a van with Free Candy painted on the side of it.

Just those things alone mean nothing really, but when you are looking for a missing little girl...they stand out.

Btw~ Devon is from Idaho, but Wes is from WA.

Wouldn't that describe almost every WSer here?! LOL (Looking around the room suspiciously now.) I hope their spouses don't read that and turn 'em in.

Yes. I guess that doesn't mean though that the internet didn't have anything to do with this disappearance, just that her communications don't indicate this on her part.

Investigators monitored Lindsey Baum’s MySpace page for any clues but said the account has been inactive since she vanished and she left no posts indicating she was planning to leave.

"There was nothing that indicated any preplanned intention for her to run away or go anywhere," said Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott.
