There was the person who sent the brother home while she was walking w/her friend over to friend's house. We don't know WHO that person was.

Then there was the female who was driving to work and recognized her and said she was 2/3 or 3/4?? on her way back toward home.

And there was the person in the video store who said the kids came in @8:15. I don't recall if they rented any videos but they were in the store earlier.

Was there someone else?

I *think* so, but not sure. Hard to say from Scott's wording, but he did state that they had another verified sighting Friday night.

I'll go find the link. To me, it sounded like a new instance, but it might have been one of the above.

Oh wow! I had no idea there was a thread for her! Leave it to WS - sometimes I feel like you guys are truly the only ones who care! Her body was found though, so I think the thread would have to be moved, correct?

:blowkiss::blowkiss:

Yep. ChicoLiving is on now, if you want to have it moved?

I was looking to find any sort of therapy/rehab program in Mccleary, whether SO or drug/alcohol, but I couldn't find anything other than the AA that was already mentioned.
How far is Montesano?

17 miles

I live near and I don't know of that program. I can find out though.

A quick phone call and I was told no there is no "official" half way house/therapy/rehab group for sex offenders in Montesano. There may be a "counselor" that says they specialize in something like that but I'm not finding any names.

I haven't heard who the woman was or where she worked. But there are several casinos and prisons in the area.
I don't know about the Shelton prison but the prison in Aberdeen has shifts from 2pm-10 pm, 10pm-6 am and 6am -2 pm (there are others obviously but these fit into the time frame).

I don't know what the shifts at the casino are like but 10 pm doesn't sound like an odd hour for a shift change in a place that is open until 4 or 5 am.

McCleary is a small town. She might not have known Lindsey by name but she's more than likely seen her running around town at some time.

24 hour restaurants also work those shifts, although I didn't see like a Denny's or IHOP for example, in McCleary. She could have been driving to another town, maybe? Or even shell...is that open 24 hours?

...On Wednesday a second person came forward to report having seen Lindsey Baum on Friday night as she walked home along Maple Street from a friend's house.
...

As for the first report, IIRC it was a female and she was a worker for a county (I can't remember if it was that county or the one next to it). I can't find the link, been looking for that for at least 15 mins...anyone have a link?

Her name wasn't reported. The name of the person who saw the squabble was not reported. The second person that sighted Lindsey on Maple, has not had their name reported.

Ground Search Suspended For Missing McCleary Girl
Search Intensifies Into Her Online History

<snipped>
The ground search for a missing Grays Harbor County girl has been suspended, but the search into her Internet history is intensifying.

Police are now checking entries in her MySpace page and doing a forensic analysis of her computer looking for new clues.

They found an entry from Lindsey a month ago saying, "I've been getting a lot of nightmares lately and I have this bad feeling that something bads gonna happen.”

“That's why we're having the computer looked at now forensically to see if there's any other information that may have been deleted or in some other file we didn't access," said Rick Scott of Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office.

The initial analysis shows no evidence Lindsey communicated with anyone online that may have been involved in her disappearance.

Police, crews and volunteers have searched landfills, Dumpsters, creeks and conducted numerous ground searches, but have found no sign of Lindsey. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is also questioning sex offenders about her disappearance.

Meanwhile, volunteers continue to hand out fliers in an effort to generate tips and keep spreading the word.

Police are asking people to get their facts from the police or media and to not flood the tip line after rumors about the case started circulating overnight.

Three billboards went up Thursday across Western Washington asking for the public’s help with this case.

Does anyone know if they would have taught Lindsey any sort of street-proofing in Girl Guides?

I've been thinking about it and if they don't, they should. Girls of that age are such targets. I know it doesn't fit with most of the GG program, but, it would make sense.

I think the Shell is open 24 hours. Someone below mentioned working for the county.. maybe a corrections officer for the county jail? Other than that I can't think of a county job that requires them to be at work at that time of night.

Thanks KAT and TATER, yes, seems like someone else saw her on Maple.
Ah yes, I now recall reading it was a female 'county' worker who recognized Lindsey as she was driving to work.

Maybe the 'person' who reprimanded the brother is purposely being left out of LE conversations so people back off being suspect of the minor brother.

Still would like to know who that person is. Was it someone at the friend's house? or a property owner/resident living along the route to friend's house?

Her comment about being scared something bad was going to happen is very strange and compelling. What would make her say that? Is it something that is just simply prophetic?

I've been trying to keep up with this thread... Who is Wes?

Was there any activity at the bus station that night? Do folks ride that bus to the casino? Is the Tavern or bar a place folks stop after leaving the casino?

FifthEseence,

What do you think? To me this sounds like a new/different person confirming a Friday night sighting between 9:00-9:30, but it's hard to say.

http://www.thedailyworld.com/articles/2009/07/02/local_news/doc4a4cf43c1b1dd881132403.txt

Scott said a second person came forward Tuesday with a confirmed sighting of Baum from Friday night in the same area along Maple Street near Fifth Street.
It would have to be a different person to be seeing her at the same location and near the same time, imo.

I wonder if one of those people works with the County Sheriff's Dept. as a Deputy or a dispatcher?

Actually this gives us an indication who the first witness might be:

http://www.thedailyworld.com/articles/2009/06/30/local_news/doc4a4a53f8addf4694664243.txt

Tuesday, June 30, 2009 11:49 AM PDT

...Scott said detectives have received one key tip. Shortly before the girl disappeared, there was a sighting of her by a neighbor who was heading to work.

Lindsey was leaving a friend’s house about four blocks away between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday, traveling from Maple Street to Mommsen Road. Scott said a neighbor spotted her “two-thirds of the way home,” still on Maple Street.

“We have her coming back from the residence alone consistent with the friend and friend’s family,” Scott said. “We cannot put her to the main street here or to the street in front of her house. This wasn’t somebody who said she saw someone who looks like (Lindsey) or might have been; she was very confident it was Lindsey because she knew her and was on her way to work.”

http://www.thenewstribune.com/updates/story/797683.html
...The last person to see Lindsey was a resident driving though McCleary who saw her walking on Maple Street between Fifth and Sixth streets about 9:15 p.m. She was about halfway home, near the center of town.

(Note the article directly above was printed before the report of the second witness and we don't know where on Maple the second witness saw Lindsey.)

I am still trying to find the link that described the first eyewitness as a worker of a county (county worker). I swear I read it, I just can't find it. grr.

Does the family friend, which family, who sent the brother home, live on Maple? or was he/she walking, or driving?
The pics of the town look so deserted. There aren't any people anywhere, and I only counted four cars, and one motorcycle, that were moving.
Maple street is so straight you can see all the way down it, but one article said the friend stayed on the porch until Lindsay turned or was out of sight?, and what porch? Neither house has a "porch", imo.

Her comment about being scared something bad was going to happen is very strange and compelling. What would make her say that? Is it something that is just simply prophetic?
Sure, why not? It could very well be. She said she was having nightmares according to reports. (The Psych Doc on NG said it was due to the divorce, but she doesn't believe in having psychic visions, imo.) However, I know plenty of people who have felt a foreboding/had nightmares prior to something major happening to them. Lindsey was right, wasn't she?

 • #598
So if your pumping gas in the Shell station it would give you a birdseye view of a little girl walking up Maple by herself, would it not?

I want to give a shout out to Angel for all of her hard work and tireless effort to keep us updated on the latest information hot off the presses!! WTG!!!

Last bus through McCleary was 8:25 pm (heading east, I believe) and 8:35 pm (heading west, I believe--those times/directions could be reverse).

The casino isn't in McCleary, it's about 11 miles (20 minute drive maybe?) away in Shelton or what is called the Kamilche cut off. I don't know a whole lot about the Tavern. I was there once in the 90's back when I was young and enjoyed the bar scene. I have heard it's usually just the locals hanging out. Kind of like Cheers, everyone knows everyones name.
