Does anyone know of website to search washingtons inmates.

The person that was arraigned for beating the man in Elma with a hammer, shows up in the Grays Harbor County records as having a connection to a man with the last name of Baum.
Just strikes me odd.
Is Baum a common name in the area?

Not sure how helpful this is now, but I am hoping it will be helpful to us once they arrest someone. This is the Gray's Harbour Sheriff's Daily bookings & register of current inmates:

http://www.co.grays-harbor.wa.us/info/sheriff/JailRegisters/Index.asp

The only name I recognize on the register list for today is Ludington's.

I think I can post this, since the man's name was put out there in the media, although not related to this case.

I won't put his name, just the links.

This is the GHC booking records for the man that was arrested for attacking the man in Elma. I think it's interesting simply because it proves a violent history. I can't tell if he is out of jail at the moment or not. THeir record system confuzzles me.

Then you add the link below and you have a Baum connection to this man within GHC.
General records: http://dw.courts.wa.gov/index.cfm?fa=home.namelist
Record with Baum: http://dw.courts.wa.gov/index.cfm?f...F5F4DCB0D&dt=67F977DFC3167D8FBB7EDD0BD3FEF8DB
I believe he is LE, but I could be wrong.

I found and attorney C.A. Baum in Chehalis, WA.

Checking for middle initial - yep, this is he:

See, that is where I started to wonder if rescue dogs are cross-trained as tracking & cadaver dogs?

I'll have to research to know if that is even possible, but after reading your post, I began to think of the same rescue dogs having to find survivors in a plane crash perhaps, but also persons who didn't survive? Does that make sense? The dogs would have to have the ability to locate both living & dead?

On the other hand, my first questions were much as you answered - at what point, if any, have live-tracking dogs been used vs. cadaver dogs? And in what areas?

Many dogs are cross-trained and are able to do several tasks well. There are, however, separate evaluations for each task, it is therefore most effective to use the dog best trained for each specific task. A search effort can be maximized by utilizing the various types of dogs in conjunction with each other.

Welcome to WS, Seventeenseconds!

Now here's your first smack down. Go back and take all the full names off your post before it gets deleted! People can read the full names at the links, but it's not allowed here, since these people haven't been named by the press as being linked to the case.
We don't mind, but it's the rules, and nobody wants to lose any of the good info you've provided here. :)

I again apologize for posting this info, if it was answered already! The guy's name who's property with a creek that was 6x's....it is known as a hang out for the local kids! I came across it while searching the article's to find what month Lindsey's parent's divorced.

Instead of kids playing in Jim Mullin's creek, search dogs were back on his property. It's the sixth time his place has been searched.

"Since this happened there hasn't been kids out here at all. They're usually running all over," he said.

See, that is where I started to wonder if rescue dogs are cross-trained as tracking & cadaver dogs?

I do't think that is a normal practice. And the only dog I have ever read about who is very special can sniff the difference between 'live' blood and 'dead'blood. She is a blood dog, very unusual.

I'll have to research to know if that is even possible, but after reading your post, I began to think of the same rescue dogs having to find survivors in a plane crash perhaps, but also persons who didn't survive? Does that make sense? The dogs would have to have the ability to locate both living & dead?

I don't think dogs are trained to do both, but I don't know for sure. What I have seen is when they change from a rescue operation to a recovery mission, they bring in a different type of dog. Many call them cadaver dogs. My Blue

On the other hand, my first questions were much as you answered - at what point, if any, have live-tracking dogs been used vs. cadaver dogs? And in what areas?

LOL Here's an answer for you. We learn something new every day ;}

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070621062942AAjCZqy

It says yes, some dogs are trained as both, as in 9/11 many of these dogs found both the living and the dead.

I think they were very special dogs with all that training. xox

Two questions

1. Is it positively verified that the eyewitness (the female county worker) saw Lindsey not once, but twice, that night? The first time, she broke up the fight between L and her brother; the second time, as she was leaving for her shift at work? If so, I find that extremely coincidental. Not sure why.

2. I wonder if they've looked closer at JM, the guy who owns the property that has the pond/creek that neighborhood kids swim in...I don't think he's inserting himself into the story- but then I start to think back to Ward Weaver being so "helpful" with interviews before he became a suspect in the OR City case...

Okay, that answers that, and I am quite willing to bet that he is no relation to the Baums in question. Can anyone tell if the offender is out of jail currently or not? I'd just like that answered before I move on.

according to Vinelink... he is in custody

I just found a statement that Ms. K made that really bothers me.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/ar..._10_missing_from_mccleary.html?cat=9#comments

Someone asked her about the donations:

Thank you Paula! Concerned- The criteria is what stopped the Amber Alert - They need to change the criteria it is ridiculous a missing child is a missing child - they are always in danger no matter what the cause. judi - the donations that are listed above are not for the reward. Police said they don't know if they should set up a reward or not. It is for any investigations that have to be taken on by the family once search stops but also to help out Lindsey's family as well. Her mother has been asked to sit by the phone as she is which means she's not working now and rent still needs to be paid and her son needs to eat. We are hoping that they will set up a reward account as well because sometimes money makes people remember those little things and right now anything could help.

That statement really irks me. Not "if we can't find her", or "if she doesn't come home", but "once search stops". It could simply be a bad choice of words, but I don't like it.

It might just be an unfortunate use of words; it might also be that the general public is catching that post-24-hour pessimism in child abduction cases (really, I run on a 3-hour pessimism rule, myself). It could also be that she feels in her gut that they won't find her, the same as most of us run on instinct. Or it could be that she knows first hand that she isn't coming home. Hard to tell from wording.

Hi Be Adequite, Ah, Jim seemed like a nice old gent. LOL Interesting how he loved having the children playing on his property, but he had a gentle nature and will faint dead over if he is involved!! Could be. Like Kat says we have to keep our minds open to every possibility. xox

I think it was:

* A neighbor who works for the county stopped the bickering of L and J as they set out from their home for her friends house.

* A first sighting at 9:15 on Maple St
* a second sighting on Maple St at the same time.

Three different people I believe.
