Where was that quote from the lady who works at the "5-cent-to-5-dollar" store? Didn't she say the girls were there until she closed that evening? I'll go and try to find it. . .

Something just struck me as odd.

A neighbor close to Lindsay's home sees the argument as they walk by her house and sends brother back home at 8:45.

At about 9:15 this neighbor of Lindsay's is on her way to work and spots Lindsay again between 5th and 6th st {?}.

We have to assume this neighbor lives up on Mommsen St. We know she works in another county.

QUESTION:

WHY would the neighbor drive 5 blocks up Maple St if she was going to another county on her way to work at 9:15?

To go to Shelton in Mason County she would have taken 3rd going north which becomes Summit St or the Old Olympic Hwy.
To go to Olympia in Thurston County she would have gone south on 3rd to catch Hwy 8.
To head down to Lewis County or Pierce County she would have still taken Hwy 8 towards Olympia I believe.

Those are the 2 major cities close to McCleary that are in adjoining counties that I know of.

Correct me if I am wrong. xox

We all seem to have our pet suspects, so here's mine.

Construction company owner in McCleary. Lots and lots of money problems, probably proud of his physique due to the labor involved in his work and he might be seen as a landlord type person, depending on how you look at it.

He's my main guy at the moment.

ETA: initals are RP, and I know that's all I can post on him as of yet.

is the name of his company HB?

As far as I know, his company is named after him. Within the first ten pictures that jvk took the second time, it shows his office. Name on the window. I ran him through the court system, but I am still looking for a picture or a DOB or anything more than I have right now. WHich isn't much.

I don't have a link for you, but I think she said they were there until closing time the night before.

I think the neighbor's story has a big hole as I wrote in the post above. I wonder if it would be impossible to find out who she is.

She came out right away with her story of sighting Lindsay. Now I'm wondering if she was trying to keep the truth from coming out. Her story set the pace for the investigation, right?

Could she have a son or hubby she is covering for? I know I'm bad, but something doesn't add up. I guess I need some local input! xox

Has it ever been confirmed that the sighting of Lindsey on the way to KK's (at the time of the brother being sent home) and the sighting of Lindsey on the way home from KK's were both by the same neighbor?

RP is the McCleary Fire Chief and a Construction owner in McCleary.

If both these sightings were not by the neighbor then it means we have 3 sightings of her that night. One close to her house by the neighbor, someone driving on Maple at 9:15 on their way to work in another county and then a second sighting on Maple at 9:15.

Well, now he's even more my man of the hour, suspect wise. If he is the fire chief, wouldn't that have been a way to get her into the vehicle without a fight?

Yes! He'd be an authority figure for sure. I am thinking back to when I was 10, it was a completely different world for sure, but there were still very few people I would get into a car with at 9:15 at night. Our fire chief would have been one of them, with the fire prevention nights and stuff, he was an icon and a role model.

Also with Pittman Roofing. I am from the area, and know of the family. I think you are off track on this one. Sorry :(

I agree, and I was a very suspicious ten year old myself.

NMK, I am curious... why do you suspect him?

Thanks,

The night before she went missing, IIRC.

Small town, we have volunteer firemen/firewomen. Most of the children wouldn't even know he was the fire chief. He doesn't go driving around in a marked fire vehicle.

I have been checking this site out the past week and hoping that those posting to this site could help find Lindsey. You all add something to the mix and come up with some great things. I just thought maybe I could help since I know a little bit. Some things I have felt have been way off base, but I am reluctant to respond, because I don't want to hamper anyone's creative thoughts. Hope that makes sense????
