Hey everyone. I posted this to my profile just in case.

As many here know I am a week and half from a 600 mile PCS move...and had really procrastinated getting ready LOL!

Well my computer bit the dust this afternoon and I can't put it as a priority right now to repair it...so I grabbed my Husband's laptop just to come and let you know that I will not be able to work on Lindsey's case now...and that I will not be back online (might be able to check in..hit or miss) until the end of July beginning of AUG.

I'm :praying: that Lindsey is found and brought back to her Mother soon. Her family deserves that, and I will be :praying: that you all keep up the fantastic work and can uncover some vital information that may assist LE.

Take care!

~Kat~

We are really going to miss you, Kat! Have a good move.

I'm not sure what areas the dogs have checked. It's been reported that they checked her route and a park and some places the kids congregate.
BTW -- It wasn't dark. One of our posters went to McCleary and took pictures at about the same time of night and it was very light out.

Sorry if this has been covered, but what was the weather like? It can still be quite light out around 9-9.30, depending on cloud cover.

In the previous thread, the parcel of land belonging to JM sits at the corner of 6th and fir.
What has me creeped out, is (even if he is a nice old guy...we all know how that can go)...It has been suggested if there WAS an alt route, she would have gone south on 6th, then turned east on fir, which IS EXACTLY where his property sits. That, to me, could be why his property was searched so many times, that and the "kids" comment.
The EJ that owns their house...has anyone found anything about him yet?

Bolded by me, I guess I missed something...what "kids" comment?

Thanks

Ditto that, Kitty Kat! We will miss you!

We'll make you cliff notes and cheat sheets and we'll add you prayers into the pot.

Hope you & your merry band of military brats have an easy time of it during the move. I can't wait to see your first blog when you're back.

:blowkiss: Don't forget to pack the kids, Kat. I know it's tempting, but some one has to move those boxes around the house once the packers leave. :blowkiss:

Just coming into this story, I heard a couple days ago that the dogs were not picking up Lindsey's scent. I saw some of the pics of various routes (possible routes that may have been used by Lindsey). It was dark... why in the HECK does a mother let their minor child walk home? These parents need to get a grip. Anyways, someone posted the property of an older man, which could be a likely scenario. Have the dogs covered all roads from point A to point B.?

We can't seem to get any kind of confirmation on the scent issue. Or at least I don't think we have yet.

It wasn't dark. We are having longer days here right now. Just the other night it was plenty light enough out that I mowed my lawn between the hours of 9 and 10 pm because it was the coolest part of the day. Last night I took pictures at 9:30 pm to show just how light it was outside. I can post them if you'd like. Lindsey was not supposed to be alone that night but a series of odd events made it that way. Yes, the dogs, rescue workers, LEs and random strangers have searched the town several times. They are pretty sure Lindsey is not there. They have moved onto the idea that she was abducted. The older man you speak of.. his property has been searched at least 6 times and nothing was found.

As awful as this sounds, I would get some volunteer searchers and start searching the state parks. I know there is 2 or 3 in the area that are under an hours drive. Many times victims are dumped in state parks.

The "nice old man" at the corner of sixth and fir, said he misses all the kids playing there...or from what ppl have found, it LOOKS like that is where he lives. No confirmation.
Lotsa, it was on NG (iirc) that it was reported that the person who sent the brother home was the same lady that then again saw Lindsey walking home that night. As I was reminded a few posts down, NG has been known to make mistakes, and as far as I know, LE has not come out and said that. There are so many postings, I forget what I have read where in some instances. IF that is the case, I do find it odd...as of course Sandra and Tori both taught us these perps aren't always male.
So, even with all these trees around, I assume some overhang the road...this 6th/fir/main area is still well lit? I am I guess kind of hung up on that for some reason.
ALTHOUGH, I am beginning to think KK speaks too much, putting herself out there pretty much everywhere, yet obviously DIDN'T volunteer for a poly the way the other two involved adults did, and I find that very odd, imo.

Now...about the withdrawal you are likely to face in the very near future...

1. Pretend you are online and go over every detail in your mind that you can remember then write it down to avoid the urge to chuck everything and run to the nearest computer cafe.

2. Remember your WS friends do have phones and gladly will talk to anyone who asks about the case (and to anyone who does not ask).

3. NG and JVM are your friends and MJ only takes up 98% of their time now. Wait patiently for the other 2%.

You will be missed very much, Kat. Happy moving and don't forget to write! Hugs~ :blowkiss:

I was going to bring up the female perp situation myself. Great job! We did learn so much from recent cases and we need to remember it is not always a male who is responsible for abducting children.

Maybe a reporter or someone on another site where she frequents needs to broach that subject with her. If she is going to put herself out there on the internet and in the media, she should be ready for the scrutiny and the questions.

There is a photobucket with a ton of pictures about the case. Some were even taken by our own jvk at around 9pm. You can check out the pictures yourself to see what the area looks like.

It sure seems like something would come to surface if this was a stranger abduction. Anything. Someone seeming out of place, driving too slow in a strange car, something. At this point, I'm leaning toward someone she was familiar with knows something.

"You can't imagine the guilt"
Friend's mother replays the night as a small town reels

McCLEARY — Kara Kampen said she thought nothing of it when Lindsey Baum walked out of her house at about 9:15 p.m. last Friday. Little McCleary was such a homey place, such a safe place, that the idea that anything could happen to her was completely ridiculous.

Kampen moved to town in January from Arizona, and practically from the moment her daughter Michaela met Lindsey, they were fast friends. Brassy, sassy girls with big senses of humor, the two were practically “attached at the hip,” Kampen said.

In Arizona, no one let their kids outdoors, Kampen said. There was too much bad news. It was one of the reasons she moved to McCleary, for its wholesome atmosphere. It was a place where kids could be kids, she said.

“You just don’t see kids out here anymore, when it’s still bright,” Kampen said. “You see some of the older ones, or a few on bikes, but it’s not at all like it used to be.

Kuhn said he hadn’t seen such a change in the town since the Bassett murders. In August of 1995, Brian Bassett was convicted of murdering his mother, father and little brother and sentenced to three life terms. He was 16 at the time of the murders. A then-17-year-old friend who participated in the killings, Nicholaus McDonald, was convicted on two murder counts.

Those murders shook the community, Kuhn said, but did not rob it of its sense of neighborliness in nearly the same way.

Finding Baum has been complicated by a complete lack of physical evidence, Scott said.

“It’s like she vanished into thin air,” he said. “Gone without a trace.”

Interesting interview. I am just wondering who I should be in awe of for using the word jeremiads, KK or the reporter. What a grand word. And one I haven't heard or seen in so very long.
