I didn't think one way or the other about KK being paid to blog. I just made a mental note of it so that I know more about a main player whether or not it is significant to Lindsey's disappearance. LOL

I don't think that it is JMHO.

Ok, then Festus must be the son. It's just strange that he uses Festus as his MS name. I thought it was just a nickname.

I'm assuming that if he is the son, then ML is his step mom maybe? Since she is listed as 31. Could be a wild goose chase, but I found it interesting when KK posted something to the effect of ML having had a previous confrontation with Lindsey's mom, and how she shouldn't be taken too seriously because she is the type who will look for a way to under Melissa's skin (completely paraphrasing on that one, but that was the gist of it). Then to see Festus with all the DMV violations and the astro thread mentioning DMV issues... I just found that interesting and would love to learn more about that family.

When looking at the pics on ML's myspace page, she has a pic of a guy and says, her son from another mother. I was under the impression that it's her step son. The pics of FL are showing him as looking a good bit older than ML, so I would believe he has a son around 28.

yes, it looks like they have a "his kid/s, her kid/s and thier kid/s" kind of family

I have looked for info on them and I'm coming up empty handed. It's frustrating.

<snipped a bit>

She isn't getting paid to post about Lindsey on the sites where we read her posts.

Just the blog... which really has nothing we don't know.

Amanda, I'm sorry if it looked like I was finger pointing at one person - I meant that in general. NO blogger should be paid to confuse the facts for hits...PERIOD!!! Especially for a crime involving a child!!!

Look at this case...can the reported info get any more confusing? The scent dogs failed to find a scent, but now different dogs do; and the various blocks on Maple where people reported seeing Lindsey does not make sense in trying to figure out what route she REALLY took...I am totally confused.

I think Lindsey was at the hands of someone she knew and I'm wondering who else might know that!!! MOO

Snipped and bolded by me respectfully.

I hear you eyes. I found the Department of Justice recommended criteria for an amber alert :

http://www.amberalert.gov/guidelines.htm

Someone here may be more familiar about the criteria that is needed at state level. From my understanding there are federal guidelines and then each state also have certain guidelines in order to activate an amber alert.

I think that possibly in Lindsey's case, there was no evidence of an abduction and that may have been the problem.

Again, I understand everyone's frustration, even my own. Just wanted to share that info so we can carry it forward to other cases if need be.

Kat: I'm not sure how law enforcement could think anything other. I'm pretty sure that anyone other than mom or dad Baum giving Lindsey a lift out of town would be considered a kidnapper. Originally, Lindsey was considered a run-away. How far did LE think a 10yo could get on her own? Maybe people gave LE that impression and that's why an amber alert wasn't called...but certainly LE can think beyond what they are told! Hopefully!

I really still do feel that this was not a stranger abduction. There were no screams, no evidence of a struggle (meaning no blood or personal items that were found). This was someone that she knew or thought she knew.

Also, does anyone know where I can find a link for the report that there was a bag of clothing found, but LE "didn't think it had anything to do with Lindsey." I never saw any followup on that.

I think this line is what kept them from issuing an Amber Alert
There is enough descriptive information about the victim and the abduction for law enforcement to issue an AMBER Alert to assist in the recovery of the child.

I keep reading articles stating lindsey was loud and talkative. Maybe she over heard something about the perp and he/ she was furious because lindsey was telling others in town what she heard?

Also about the foreclosure it is possible they were renting and the house was foreclosed on. I had to foreclosure listings last year that we had to relocate to renters.

In the asrto threads they were saying possibly a land lord type person. Are there real estate companies in that town? A lot of real estate agents here also own rental homes, and not all are honest.

jnTexas, MBs landlord is a guy named Eric. And the town drunk pointed the finger at a guy named Eric to jvk (not clear if jvk contacted the LEs with this info or not).

:floorlaugh:

Can you let me hold $100? I know you can afford it.

On a more serious note, I continue to believe more went on at the friend's house. Someone that either lives there or was in the house at the time knows something. IMO

She did.
I am still not liking this guy and still upset that I cannot see what his crimes were.
It's really getting under my skin, especially NOW that you mention that.
Is noone gonna look at the guy?

If you're referring to the landlord he's giving me a super hinky feeling and the astro thread is doing a little work trying to confirm DOB if anyone can help with that.

I stayed up til about 4am EST trying to find a confirmation. Then, when I woke up this morning, I noticed this post.

Not that I take everything I read so seriously that I let it blind my intuition, but it did make me think maybe we might have the wrong "E" name. Anyone have anymore leads on anyone else with that name?

Athy, I also think that Lindsey could have "recognized" her abductor and therefore thought that she "knew him" and that it was safe to get in his car. There are so many twists and turns in the reporting of this case that it's hard to know exactly what preceded little Lindsey's disappearance. JMO.

Also, is the "Capitol Forest" (where the arson was reported) near McCleary? TIA.

bolded by me, if you google capitol forest with mccleary, it states 15-30 minute drive. To me this is very interesting especially since they've determined it was arson

The astros have EJ's DOB. Last I was told, they were not looking at him.
I'll have to go check the thread.
I worked on him a long time.

  • #438
Yep, Capitol Forest looks to be about 3 - 4 miles East Southeast of McCleary, and spans a lot of ground.

ETA: This article about Lindsey mentions Capitol Forest and it's size.

http://www.komonews.com/news/local/49891642.html

"The trails are very big. The Capitol Forest is 80,000 acres..."

I don't know, maybe she actually disappeared very close to the last place she was seen, which, as far as we know, was between 5th and 6th on Maple. I'm thinking they need to be looking at Bee Hive's employees and residents very closely and need to search the grounds thoroughly.
