Many many moons ago, when I was Lindsey's age, we moved to a small town from out of state.

Children that age can be cruel to "new kids" and if they know they are getting to you, they don't let up.

My brother who was a year older, got picked on even worse than I did but we both got picked on. My little brother 2 years younger, blended in and didn't get the teasing like me and my older brother did. 10-13 is a hard age for kids if you are new in a small town. jmo

Girls are much more mean now, than they were when I was young.

I'm sorry that you or anyone would have to be picked on by 'bullies'...yes, children can be mean, but don't you wonder where they learn that? Thanks for sharing.

Cool weather reinvigorates search for missing girl

It's been ten days since Lindsey Baum, 10, was reported missing in McCleary.

The search for Baum has tapered off, but Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott says the change in weather is good for search and rescue teams. "The canines were affected by the heat."

Scott says their teams will be going deeper into wooded areas they've already searched and also focusing on the off road vehicle park east of McCleary.

I'm glad to hear they are doing more searching. The ORV park is huge, with hundreds of miles of trails throughout the Capital Forest.

We've got an 8:19 confirmed sighting at the video store, correct?
Do we have a confirmed time of LB leaving her house with JB and MK?
If not, I can't say that I trust anything that's been said to happen after 8:19pm, anymore.

Also, it's been said that the girls would go to the library sometimes to check/update their MS pages, etc... (kk said this as well, so I am taking it with a grain of salt), do we know anything about employees of the McCleary Timberland Library? It looks like it was closed on the Friday she went missing, but that also means employees would have most likely been off... I'm curious if anyone there might have been watching her, or aware of her and her friends myspace activity. It looks like you can schedule a computer session there, do you have to? Can you just walk in and use one (with a library card of course) or is it a mandatory scheduling? Looks like hour intervals.

Tim Miller and Texas EquuSearch are a fantastic team and they respond to requests coming directly from the parents or LE in such cases. The location could be a logistical nightmare for the group, but it wouldn't stop them...imo.

It was reported Lindsey's family hired a PI and with LE working so diligently...I don't know where they would have TES begin to search unless it is to go over every place they have already cleared to start on the logging roads etc. Let's hope the PI or LE can narrow an area to start searching again.

Hi SS, I hadn't heard they hired a PI. What I read was it was Harry who owns a tracking dog service. xox

So I have been reading post from KK on SM. On one post she gives out the info on the man who brought the dogs in that " picked up a scent down" 6th. Phone # everything...kinda strange.

Hi Mysticrose, It was strange as it didn't come out in the media like it normally has in other cases.

Also as I remember it was a confirmation to KK on what she had heard before about the dogs sniffing Lindsey going uphill on 6th, or south off Maple.

I'm trying to figure out if the girls went to the video store in their bathing suits...cause from there, Lindsey and Kayla went to mom Baum's home where Lindsey plugged in her cell phone, bathed, and changed clothes. Once there, wasn't something said about reading Harry Potter? Seems that once arriving at the Baum household, nothing makes much sense in the way of time. The walk to mom K's and back is the most confusing. Not much info available except from the 2 wittnesses.

Another thing on her posts ( KK) she says that there were problems at school with Lindsey being picked on by some girls at school. Apparently they used to be friends then it turned not so friendly and then befriended her again shortly before Lindsey went missing of course this is not confirmed just posted and stated...

Hi again Mystic, That is just like KK said she had heard, not confirmed, that Lindsey was going to have to repeat her year, probably she said due to so many missed days at school. Just RUMOR, but if that is true it would have to be allot of days I would think. She didn't like going to school for some reason. xox

Oh...sorry...yes, you are correct! I don't know why I thought PI in my mind.

Why wouldn't Harry tell LE about the dogs finding Lindsey's scent? Why would he tell momK? Who is running this investigation anyway?

Ok, I can't keep up here so this may have already been talked about over and over....but I was watching Komo4 news at 11:00 this morning and they reported that LE is searching a field behind an RV park there?

They also said they aren't searching it based on a tip but because of the access the public had to it after Lindsey went missing? That confused me  I hope I heard it right.

I've googled this for links and looed at their website and can't find anything. Is this old news?

Hi Breanna, Yesterday a psychic's site was posted where she feels Lindsey was taken to a mobile home or trailer, possibly in a park. A poster here found a mobile home park on the road between McCleary and Elma. And then another poster stated there are several mobile homes on that road to Elma.

It probably wouldn't take much to find out where they are searching. How many ball parks can there be by a mobile home park!

Maybe a thread could be started for just facts so we don't confuse it with hearsay

Good point about the library (bolded by me) - how many public computers do they have there? I believe there is at least 1 RSO in Mccleary that has a Myspace account. Possible that the RSO uses that library for access? Just throwing it out there.

Hi again Scandi - are they searching a ball park? Where? TIA

I'm not sure how many yet. This is from their website but no reference to how many.

Computers with access to the Internet, Microsoft Office, and online reference databases. One-hour computer sessions can be reserved using the online reservation system or by calling the library.

I agree. Things are getting way to confusing.

People are talking about RV parks, baseball parks, etc.. and NONE of this is being mentioned by the LEs (or at least I can't find it mentioned). The only thing i've seen about the search is that they have now started searching the ORV park. Which is an Off Road Vehichle Park NOT an RV (Recreational Vehichle) park. It has dirt trails to ride motorcycles and quads on and a camping area.

I think people are mistaking what KK is saying for fact or they are half way reading things and making mistakes.. either way in my opinion that is not the best thing to do.

Hmmmm Acc to that the Dad is still in Tn? Allot of that article was regurgitated info and I found several inaccuracies. You would think with this case turning national heads they would at least get their reporting of it down pat. Simply frustrating is all, and we here so depend on links.:confused::confused:

That article was published on 6/30.

Ok, I was the one who posted earlier about what I saw on KOMO4 news this morning. They reported that LE was searching in a field behind an RV park.

They really had that wrong. And it confused me.

I think the link Eyes4Crime posted from King5 news is the accurate one. That one states they are searching the ORV park now that everyone has left it after the weekend. That makes much more sense.

Sorry for any confusion :) I was just posting what I had watched on the news and they had that story all FUBAR.

Hi Scandi
When my son was having a problem at school ( middle school) with a kid I noticed he did not want to go to school for a few days...would try and say he was sick and stuff.
I always do like to read the posts of locals as it gives me a broader picture of things. I certainly dont take them as fact but I do file them away in the old memory banks so if something comes up I can cross reference. You can learn alot from what locals have to say for instance the " town drunk" talking. He will have alot of info from a small town like that. People love to gossip and no better place then the bar. I spent 8 1/2 years in a town w/ population of 500 year round residents...and let me tell you wether you wanted to know or not you knew the scuttle butt on just about everyone in town..lol And I would have to say that it was always 95% accurate.
Another thing is people there let there kids run around as well due to everyone knowing everyone. Our Sheriff was shot and killed by some people who decided to rob the small town bank just over the mountain pass from us it was very disturbing to say the least. I was on a first name basis with him.
And one of our locals everyone was great friends with wound up arrested for child molestation charges ..we were all in shock because he didnt" fit the profile".
I just wish people would be more careful you just never know who might be lurking around because everyone is so relaxed in these type of communities. Where I am now there is 2500 people (plus one town grouch)lol..we have 3 RSO against children here and you can bet I know where each of them live ! If they even look at a kid the wrong way their liable to get a big fat purse accross the head..lol
