Not quite right Track: Apparently the neighbor who told brother J to go home was visiting a neighbor right near mom K's. The kids left the bike behind the Shell and walked - brother J was told to go home. I don't know who the neighbor nor the visitor was except they were both down the street from MOM K's. Maybe there will be another version soon,. grrrrr!
And when there is, please link the source, we don't need hearsay.

I wonder if the Chamber of Commerce there would have information on the Park and Ride situation for various things?

Would they have one going to that Pirate festival in the neighboring town?

Westport is over an hours drive from McCleary and the buses don't run directly from McCleary to Westport.
The Transit system in our area sucks. Most people prefer to drive than to take the bus

The only thing I can find in our Direct Quotes from LE thread regarding the squabble does not specify the gender. http://www.thenewstribune.com/news/northwest/story/795384.html

If there are any quotes from LE stating the gender we will need to get it into the Direct Quotes from LE thread so we can refer back to it.

I don't see any info from LE at that link that even mentions the squabble.
The notion that the person who broke up the squabble and the person who witnessed Lindsey on Maple btw 5th and 6th are the same person came from an unreliable poster at another site -- not a news report and not LE.

At least one of the people who saw Lindsey at that point on Maple after she left her friend's house was a woman.Scott said witnesses were able toput Lindsey within a couple of blocks of her house just after 9:30 p.m. The last person reported to have seen her, he said, was a neighbor on her way to work.

I was about to post the new time-line and went to the other site where Mom K is posting...that info was recent...she posted it not long ago. Sorry if I included something I shouldn't have, but the time-line I'm doing changes constantly and I just wanted to make sure nothing was new...that was. It's over on a chimp site. Do you want me to take it out of the time-line? and to delete my posts about it? I sure will if it clears things up. TIA

The info about the squabble, video store, swimming etc has all come from mom K and what she says at the other site. Because it was being discussed here, I included it on the time-line but said it wasn't verified by LE. I'm trying to find out if I should delete the time-line and my comment.

Hi Steadfast, The quote from LE is a little ways down the page on the link:http://www.thenewstribune.com/news/northwest/story/795384.html

Lindsey left her cell phone at home before leaving to play with friends Friday, said Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott. Lindsey’s older brother had left the Maple Street residence before his sister after the two had a dispute over the bike Lindsey had borrowed from him that day – a common occurrence between frequently squabbling siblings, Scott added.

My source is the posts by the posters preceding mine, whom I named at the beginning of my post.

MOO.

So sorry - I don't go to the other site except mom K is being discussed here all the time and I include what she says on the time-line I post. I always put 'not verified by PD'. I guess I should get rid of her stuff on the time-line.

The problem is people not noticing the difference between 'i thought i'd heard' & 'i'd heard/i was told/i know' -

Just because a poster says ~'i thought i'd heard' (& maybe gives you a new idea/lead) - doesn't make the poster 'unreliable' - If this was the standard then people would be eternally reluctant to mention anything. Which would include quite a few things already followed here.

It has been several times here where some one has said 'i thought' and this gets interpreted (~down the road) as fact.

Anyways yes, this 2 of the same person thing becoming fact (not so much the story) came out of thin air.

Who's (exact) fault it is for becoming a ~fact, don't really care. More concerned about those repeating it as such. Yes please cite where it came from.

As I interpret the rules, you can include info that Kara has given to the media or has said to jvk, but you can include no information from the poster Karak at the other site unless and until Kara verifies to Tricia (who owns this site) that she is actually that poster.

ETA I know you started on that timeline a few days ago, when we assumed (wrongly) that using KK, Karak, and Kara interchangeably was okay. Animal explained this morning that that is not the case. I know everybody appreciates all your hard and frustrating work on the timeline!

Here is a thread for the Timeline Of Events. :) We need to start spreading this case out and taking advantage of the forum~ I will try to help get it set up so that we don't lose anything. (We have to verify our sources with links to articles, videos, and other places where we get our information. We are not allowed to link hearsay from KK, K, or other individuals on other forums according to the Mods.)

This always happens at about this point in a case. Things start to go all haywire as people make assumptions, guesses, etc, that are carried forward as fact. Like SS posted, it's time to break this case down into threads and pin down what truth we can.

The bike being left behind the Shell station has really peaked my interest.
Is this a fact?
If so, this would give Lindsey a reason to walk behind the station to make sure the bike had been taken home. MOO

That's the weird quote that changes where JB was. So horribly confusing! It doesn't even mention a neighbor or family friend intervening at all.

I agree - it is horribly confusing and I am only reading what is considered "factual" and backed up by links and it is still confusing. Thanks for pointing out the link to the 9:15pm sighting which confirms by LE that it was a female on her way to work who spotted Lindsey.

TY Steadfast ... I have found no where that the age/gender of the person who turned Josh homewards has ever been confirmed by LE.

Whatever mom K says that isn't verified by PD is pure heresay...and the mods don't want us discussing heresay. NOT A FACT!

I agree & one for the video store probably wouldn't hurt either.

I have found no reliable source/link confirmed by LE where the danged bike was or wasn't on that evening. Can't even find any confirmation by LE the age/gender of the person who presumably turned Josh homeward. Not sure at this point that anybody turned him homeward but rather that he may have just made that decision hisself ...........

ETA: I was dawdling and didn't realize that the bike had left this part of town and headed to its own thread - my apologies -
