This, from an article dated 7/9/09 that Angel Who Cares posted.

About a dozen investigators, split between the Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will continue pursuing specific leads.

“We’ve got a few things that were called in overnight,” Scott said.

Authorities will check and re-search abandoned houses and farms outside of town today, he said. Volunteers already searched some sites, but officers want to make a more thorough sweep of nearby properties and spread out to some that are farther afield.

Thank you Angel Who Cares!
It is great news they are still getting in new leads and tips! Let's hope one of those is the right one and leads directly to Lindsey.

Since the possibility is there that Lindsey was caught shoplifting, I think it is time to discuss MB's financial situation and if Lindsey got an allowance. Was she given money to shop at the Under Five Dollar store? Was she given money to buy things like pizza, ice cream, etc.?

I also want to mention I don't feel if it is true that she was caught shoplifting it reflects too badly on Lindsey. Kids at that age push the envelope a lot. They don't always associate consequences with their actions. It doesn't change my perception of Lindsey being a sweet girl who cared about her dog, loved her friends, and appeared to be normal (except living older than her years perhaps). However, if it had become a consistent problem then it is another issue.

Does anyone know if Lindsey's room has curtains that are closed at night? Anyone wandering in the neighborhood of her house might have been able to see the glow of a computer screen into the night and early morning while Lindsey was logged on-hence Mark and the ""on the internet" and "up to things" comments.

I'm thinking that even though the Shell surveillance camera may not have caught Lindsey, it did catch something. I sense they've got a break.
I pray they do ~

I pray they have a break, too. I think with the Bear Festival this weekend things are going to grind to a halt. What can you do when your town is full of tourists?

I can tell you what i'd be doing if it was my kid. I'd be setting up a stand in the middle of it. Inform as many as possible. May not reflect that great on the town, but..

I feel it is a good thing the town will be crawling with tourists. More eyes and ears in the area can't be a bad thing. They will be also filling campgrounds, other small towns, establishments, and gas stations along the route. It could be exactly what Lindsey needs to bring her home.

With LE out and asking questions, people will be well aware of the situation about Lindsey and I do expect there to be many out with signs, flyers, etc. to top out the awareness.

Kids at that age do push the envelope for sure. I had previously done some digging on MB just to get a sense or feeling for possible home environment. I did see on my travels some court records which I believe were related to MB where she was taken to court for money issues. That is as far as I took it.

I just keep praying and believing we'll find her, somehow, somewhere.

I imagine with two kids as a single mom times get tough and I would expect her to have money issues from time to time anyway. I know this could play a role in Lindsey wanting something she could not afford.

It isn't that I want in any way to drag MB through the mud here. I only want to figure out how it all affected Lindsey. The moves, the separation from her father (and distance between them), the possible shoplifting, her attitude as a "drama queen", her attitude on the internet, and other things we see emerging as her personality comes to light.

“We’ve got a few things that were called in overnight,” Scott said.

Could this be our member's information about the SO connection to residents on 6th Street? Or the conversations about Mark which led LE to him and a good lead?

I think that the people who work in the quick stop where Mark hangs out have a lot of information about the local chit chat about the disappearance. I really think Mark needs to be sobered up and taken in for an interview to find out what he heard, from who and when. But that is just me and I am not LE.

The ORV Park is something to check out. Not because of the on-site caretaker but because it is 3 miles out of McCleary and on its website advises customers that the closest food stores are in McCleary. The park gates close at 10:00pm. Perhaps a customer went in to town for some last minute supplies?

The park does not have electricity to its RV camp sites, so the caretaker must have a cabin/house to live in and LE has probably already talked to him and found out who was registered at the park that day since anyone who uses the ATV/MX/RV facilities has to sign in or sign a waiver of liability.

Of course it is impossible to tell what leads or tips they received, but it is true those tips would have come in overnight.

I agree about Mystery Mark. He should be questioned and the people at that store he frequents, too. For starters, they would know who he is and where he hangs out, imo. People who work in those places get to know their customers after repeatedly interacting with them. If he was acting strange (coming in plastered etc.), they would be leary enough of him to check him out, imo.

Mark could very well be key to the investigation and should be interviewed for what he knows and what he has heard. I just wish that we could find some more information regarding Mark - been looking and can't come up with anything yet.

JVC if you are reading here, what would you estimate Mark's age to be - just in case I do stumble across something?

I thought JVK said he was about 38 and chubby, IIRC.

I have a very strong sense of uneasiness in regards to WWatne.

He is supposedly a family friend of the Baums. He reportedly has taken Josh out fishing. He has property (a cabin, I believe) in a remote area of the wilderness. He seems to have interjected himself into the searches and vigils. Other children had gone missing from places where this man previously lived. The list goes on and on and on.

I am not trying to point fingers--I just cannot seem to shake this feeling of dread when I put all of the information together surrounding his involvement with the Baum family, and especially with the children. It put him into a ripe position for grooming both of these children.

Has anyone contacted law enforcement with the idea that maybe this man should be looked at and/or questioned in regards to little Lindsey's disappearance?

Dear Nancy Grace:

Lindsey Baum (and others) are still missing. Michael Jackson is still dead. Which one can we change? Thank you.

I pull up the MS pages now and then, LB's private 'Disturbed" says 'Online Now'. Wondering if this is LE or someone has access to LB's password. I'm afraid to send a message.
