Do these homes have basements? Have we checked building permits to see if anyone has had work done in a basement that could be some kind of a wine cellar or something resembling a secret room?

I noticed the same thing, Scandi. It does make you wonder how well the town was really searched. :/ In Haleigh's case, they did ask to go inside and look around in homes without a SW. As long as they were given permission, it was fine. I thought it was mentioned they did search inside homes, but maybe that was only direct players' homes including Lindsey's.

Makes me wonder if they physically searched around and under that bridge at all. :/ I just don't think they did. Again, the weeds didn't look at all disturbed in the photo which was taken days after she went missing.

Hi SS, Been thinking about your thoughts all day today! :)

Where I grew up and was about Lindsey's age there was a special place where I used to go with my friends. My town was once inhabited by Native American Indians and at this spot we found many arrowheads.

Anyway, there was a small white metal curved bridge on the path over a little creek that ran down to the lake. We named two spots there Lover's Leap and Devil's Drop, and they were down underneath that bridge.

It was 'our' place that noone knew about and we even hid special things there for safety and left red licorice for the trolls , yea we did.

Maybe this bridge area which seems a bit overgrown in photos, could have been special in some way to Lindsey and she was headed there on the way home. She knew it by heart living so close I bet.

And she could have easily crossed 3rd and not have been seen as those dumb cameras were focused on the pumps, as they should be, but worthless to helping in finding her.

xox

Has anyone looked into this guy?

http://www.co.grays-harbor.wa.us/info/sheriff/JailRegisters/RegisterDetail.asp?SrchBookNo=173026

Is there a way to find out where he was at the time Lindsey went missing? If a guy doesn't register as a SO, there is a reason and risk. He is still being held.
I looked and didn't see him on our RSO thread so feel free to add him! Hmmm...he was re-arrested Friday in Pierce Co. I would hope they are checking into his movements the past month. Didn't I see that last name here somewhere in this case?

Funny you should mention that Scandi because I did notice on the right side of the bridge an area which could be simple erosion or could be a path to down underneath the bridge on the park side.

Hi BeyondBelief, I do have the feeling that if Lindsey has passed she will be found very close to home.

Yes, the main roads lead right out of town and all, but if someone took her for sexual purposes and had his eye on her for awhile, I don't think he would wait to drive a ways with a screaming Lindsey in the car. She would know something was up and want out, don't you think.

I keep going back to that water tower area which is not too far down the road. I read her scent was sniffed there and who knows where I read that  or if it is true.

As is so common in cases like this I think he did something to her right away to silence her once she realized what was up. I don't think he would be able to hide his intentions from her.

Good idea. I have never checked for building permits before...where do I start?

Scandi~ Where is that water tower again?

this is what was posted yesterday when i asked.

Looks like this guy was originally charged in Virginia (POSS DEPICT MINOR ENG IN SEX ACT). Not a very pretty looking fellow and he was picked up in Grays Harbour on the 10th of July. I am seeing a Cole on 3rd Street, and a Cole on Oak Street in McCleary - no connection has been made yet to EJ Cole that has been arrested.

LOL So that I will hush up about it?! ;)

This case is very frustrating. Tiny town, six block area, and not a single clue!

It is extremely frustrating. I'm seriously pulling my hair out.

Some of those buildings looking like places built in the 1920's, 30's. I am just wondering if they have trap doors going down to root cellars, wine cellars, etc. Some old houses I had been in up north had all kinds of strange underground places. The western part of the country prob has places underground where you get out of the tornadoes fury. I have no clue what old places in Washington state would have.

He's probebly not in our data base because he was unregistered, right? Grays Harbor Jail. Was this guy arrested in Aberdeen? I think that is the county seat with the main court house and jail. It is a pretty big town, or small city, and then right across the river is Hoquim which is smaller in size. Put the two together and there is quite an area, making it a small metropolis for the area. At least that is how I remember it from the mid 70's.

Yes, WS should have a warning about baldness being a possible side effect of following some of these cases. LOL

It was marked on a map a couple of threads ago! It is southeast of town, and I remember a road that ran easterly of a main road in town and wound up a bit northerly and straightened out to the tower. Looking on a map and drawing a line north-south at the most easterly part of McCleary, it sits to the east a bit and I think about level with where you get on Hwy 8 from McCleary.

I'll go look for that map.

ETA: I'm back to thread #3 and think that little winding road you see in the bottom right hand corner of this photo is the road up to the water tower. Not sure and need some local confirmation ;}

Not a bad plan i guess. What were you going to ask him? (edit: or were you?) I'd be willing to venture w/you if needed. BTW nj on getting his last name.

Jvk, I'll go with guys too if you think having more numbers there might help.

Worth reading if you haven't explored MCCleary's history yet.

Also a photo of what the town looked like as a "company town".
Bootleg was popular.
What I am driving at is that there are all kinds of abandoned factories, buildings, homes, etc. Which means theres abandoned wells all over the area.

Ok
I'll try my best to say what I'm trying to say....
I've talked a few times about my past abuse.... I kept it a secret for a long time....Even when I was an adult, I kept it a secret....
I never planned on telling anyone or going to the police...
When I found out years ago I was having a girl of my own, something snapped in me and I finally spoke up to this person and told him he was never going to be a part of my daughter's life.
I made sure that happened, but I was still living with a huge horrible secret from almost everyone and the police didn't know.
For a while, I thought that was enough and then I started hanging out here.
I started to see that it really wasn't only about me. That there are so many kids out there that are abused and even worse.... Kidnapped and killed. :(. I started to realize
that I had to do my part to get even just this one person off the streets. The least I could do is try to make if so he has to register as a RSO.
So I finally decided to go to the police and now we wait. :(. The waiting part is so hard, but at least I feel like I finally did what I had to do and hopefully it will save some other little girl from being his next victim. :(
I also recently found out that another family member did something to another child. :(
he's been reported too, but again with the waiting. :(
It really sucks that I know at least two sex offenders that are out there that are NOT registered and not everyone has a chance to be warned about, but I'm trying my best..

NO - I don't want you to hush up about it!!! With you doing the search I am sure not a millimeter of grass and surrounding area would be missed. I believe that anyone with such a strong gut feeling about spaces and places could very well be right on.
