That looks right to me. Down just a bit farther out of view of your photo (to the left in this photo, west) is a storage area with about 5 buildings. So what you circled must be it. These apartments as I remember aren't the best. Also Jen I would consider you a local. ;) But does that make me a loco local? Hmmm :silenced:

When did they take out the really trashy mobile home park that was across the street from the apartments? I just noticed the other day that the area to the west of the cemetery had been cleared and the mobiles were all gone.

most likely the bank foreclosed on the property in December, and then started evictions. In Texas the evicition process is 30 days. Once that is complete they have a company come out and clean the property of debris and personal proeprty left behind. Sometimes they will do repairs. the bank then orders an appraisal (some do some don't) and a broker price opinion from the agent they hire to list the property. Sometimes we do not get the listing until they have been empty 3+ months most of the time though it's within 60 days. Every foreclosure company or Bank have different ways they do things.
If it was a hud foreclosure then it would take a longer time as they have all kinds of reports ordered on those houses.
I'm betting this one was probably listed in Feb or March and was on the market till May. most real estate sales here take 30 days.

makes sense..
Thanks for the info!

Wait! What? We just figured out that is where ML and FL were living.

ugh.. back to square one if the trailers are gone

Jennifer, They are very fortunate to have you. The ratio of SO's in McCleary was 1 in 265 from what I read, and I bet it is lower in Montesano because it is the County seat. Poor Elma, it is a lovely little town but they do have allot of SO's from what I read. Imagine what Olympia has! Seattle! Portland!

You have a little piece of heaven right there. xox

I've often thought the same. What a bunch of weirdos I live around. Did you happen to hit Lakefair this week? I mean WOW. It's downright scary all the strange people downtown :o

But it's a beautiful state and is as safe as anywhere I suppose. No place is safe anymore what with all the creeps coming out of the woodwork lately.

Even the adjusted location is interesting, closer to the woodland area. Isolation is a primary ingredient, no matter what. For instance, the fact that two locals here have driven by the Shell station and not noticed things in back of the station clearly demonstrates that just about anything could have happened in that back area, especially at that time of evening. Even McCleary claimed that the park is next to vacant, even at prime times and is only populated when some "event" is underway. That background area behind the Shell station would probably have been a very popular hangout for kids, despite the adjacent police station. Perhaps the fact that the police were nearby would suppress a bit of the "evening falling" fear factor for children like Lindsey who has been reported to be "terrified" of the dark.

Wouldn't that mean the trailers were removed after the papers were mailed?

Yeah...they aren't there anymore...it's been bulldozed all the way from the cemetery to the creek...and there are piles of dirt/rock/gravel/sand/something behind the cemetery...I noticed it a couple weeks ago but didn't think anything of it until the apartments were brought up.

Totally OT, but because of this Lindsey thing and because of the sleuthers here on this website.. I ran full background checks on my daughters Youth Group leaders last week before allowing her to take a one week camping trip with them.

They had strict rules of "no electronics" on the trip. Well I put my foot down and told them my daughter was taking her cell phone and she would be allowed to carry it. It would be turned off at all times so it wouldn't bother anyone but I wanted her to have it incase of an emergency.
I won and she got to take it.

Well yeah, but that also means we have no idea where ML and FL live now.

when my child is born, I swear I want a gps tracking chip inserted. As horrible as that sounds, I'd go ape $hit if something happened to my child and I couldn't find him/her.

I guess I'm lost. Who are the B's? They own the trailer that ML has moved to?

Yup. They own the property & trailers...but it seems that now the area has been cleared off and the trailers are gone. Back to trying to figure out where they moved to.

Whenever I hear about bulldozing and piles of dirt, rock, gravel, etc. at the same time some person is missing, my hair bristles. Do you have any idea how recent -- or not -- this bulldozing occurred. Has there been any action in that area following LB's disappearance? Did any searching include that area of disturbance?

Wow! Does this woman have a built in honing device for digital cameras or what?! LOL Actually, I am glad you ran into her. At least if she keeps talking, we can find out piece by piece her story. Some of it adds up and other parts not so much.

I hope she is simply not aware of finding the clothing instead of it really not having been found at all. That part was disappointing. She did say that LE wasn't being very forthcoming with her tho.

I am not familiar with the Laura Recovery Center. Boondock found an item on CL which said they donated a building next to Subway so I would assume this is the group setting up the command center. (Good job, BD! Now we know the finer details.) I am happy they will be there to organize searches and keep Lindsey's case going with the public.

Ha! You found the pool! Amazing! So if you could see it...some Joe Blow could also see the girls playing in their bathing suits in and around the pool? Could someone see them from the Shell station? This could add another reason to go over those Shell tapes again.

(Hey, Scandi...sounds like you need to go to Shell for a sales call! Their camera is worthless!!)

Great photos, Cyber! It does help me to put things in perspective A LOT!! It doesn't look anything like I had pictured in my mind in that area. I had no clue that fence was there and the creek with steep banks. Also, it is more spread out than I realized. Thanks~

Any idea what that old rusty 55 gal. drum is doing just sitting there beside the air/water pump? (Hope they checked it.)

You do anything that Mrs. wants you to do and keep her happy. Being a sleuth here requires we maintain our family obligations so they are not so grouchy when the trial comes and we are stuck like glue to the computer. ;)

Excellent job, Cyber!

Today I went down to the Shell station to get some pictures to help clear up some of what I had reported yesterday. I could hardly believe what happened next. It must have been fate. Guess who saw me taking pictures and walked up and introduced herself? Kara! (Kara as you recall is the mother of Lindsey's friend who sent her home that night.) So I introduced myself and told her where I lived and that I was taking pictures for a forum where we were discussing Lindsey's case. I told her there has been some speculation on the boards we were trying to clear up. She volunteered that she at first was blogging or posting on sm.com about the case, but later quit. (At least I think that is what she called the web site.) I wished I'd had a notepad with me, but I was totally unprepared for this chance encounter. The reason she stopped blogging/posting was because the kids were starting to read the forums and information about the family was coming out that they didn't want the kids to read. She did not elaborate on what that was and I didn't press her about it.

So needless to say I had a thousand questions. First off the hoodie and flipflops. She said they DID NOT find them as I was told by Shel last night. She said she thinks the confusion comes from the items the dogs were given to sniff.

So that lead to the next question, the scent trail. She said the dogs picked up her scent all over town because basically she in the previous days had been all over, so they don't give much credance to the scent information.

She said there was a text going around that they had found Lindsey's body. So many people believed it, they started taking down the posters for her. Kara said they are now trying to get those back up.

Kara said that herself and the woman from the Laura Recovery Center (can't remember her name, started with an A though) are told anytime the dogs go out searching and that they knew of no searches in the ORV park. However, they did say that LE was not being very cooperative with them.

I also asked about the other adults in the home. She said just her kids and boyfriend were there and not other adults as has been previously discussed.

So I asked about the pool too. It is NOT a kiddie pool like I reported last night. The pool they swam in is in a yard just SW of the shell station. It is one of the ones inflated with water that has the inflated ring on top. It looks to be about 12 to 15 ft in diameter and about 3 ft deep. The yard is very open. When I drove by I could see most of it. I did not drive around the block it was on because I needed to get back home and I was afraid I was going to forget all this info.

Some info on the woman from the Laura Recovery Center. She is from Oregon and her niece was taken in California some months ago. I think she said she is a volunteer here helping coordinate the search effort along with Kara. They are looking for a building or operations center here in McCleary. If anyone knows of one they can use, please let me know.

I would like to say that both Kara and the woman from the recovery center were very nice to talk to and they are trying to keep Lindsey's name out there and on people's lips. Don't think that will be a problem around here!

Oh. I asked about the camera's at the Shell Station. Kara said the one camera on top doesn't work and the other one is pointed straight at the pumps and doesn't even get all of them in the picture. Very poor system. She said nothing was on the tapes.

(I'll have to submit the pictures later. I don't have time to do it right now as wife wants to go to Costco and as a good husband, I am compelled to go. )

I have no idea how long ago it was cleared...but I would say it was done before Lindsey went missing...I think they cleaned out the trailers sometime after a man was killed when a tree fell on one...but I'm not totally sure. I'm trying to find out more info...

What are they? Freaking Gypsies? We have less trouble tracking absconded sex offenders! LOL

Not to be a fly in the collective ointment, but has anyone looked into who is donating the space for the command center discussed in the Craigslist ad?
Just curious, since killers have that pesky habit of liking to watch the action.
