WA - Lindsey Baum, 10, McCleary, 26 June 2009 - #7

  • #641
I'm raising the last of 4 bio and 4 step kids. I have NEVER been an overly protective mother. My kids grew up in the same neighborhood (heck, the same house) that I did. I knew all the neighbors and had no problems with my kids playing outside "until the street lights come on".
Poor youngest child is almost 14 and I won't let her out of my sights unless I run background checks on people she might encounter and I also make sure she has TWO (not just one) fully charged cell phone batteries on her at all times.

I've even gotten to the point that I take a picture of her before she leaves the house.. that way I will know exactly what she is wearing.
:o

Jen, YOU are a FANTASTIC mama. My mom was always paranoid when we were kids. She used to hate us out of her site and now I know why. There is so much meanness out there. Remember I posted about our bike repair man that was arrested a few years ago for child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on his PC? We used to frequent his home because we played with his kids and he fixed EVERYONES bike. No one... I mean no one would have suspected him. Such a nice old man. Now, I wish he were castrated :D

I sure hope they went through those with the dogs before they moved them!

Probably not...iirc they were moved about a week and a half after L went missing...I only remember them moving because I got stopped on my way out of town going to Oly by the truck backing in. I think I may have said something about the construction at the school then too, but I don't know which thread it would have been in.

There was one photo in particular which was a stellar shot looking at the 9 cars parked in a row with a red arrow showing the road to Lindsey's house.

If you go back Cyber, I would love to see a shot from the north side of that bridge looking thru the trees to her house. You'd get a Krams for that ;}

PS: that's a Swedish hug or two Haa Haa
Whew! Scandi For a second there "Krams" sounded painful.

(sorry-OT & going back to lurking)

She did say in one comment that everyone in town knew her and who she is. One way would be to mail her something she has to sign for with return to sender, but that would be totally, well devious to do. LOLOLOL
Send flowers and they would be delivered to her door. ;) LOL

I guess after a week and a half there would have been an indication of someone being hidden in one. Then again...maybe not. I wonder how we could find out where those were rented and returned? If they were used for temp. classrooms, they probably won't be reused until closer to fall and makes me question if anyone entered them after they were emptied out after classes let out? If they don't have anyone using them this fall...they could sit on a lot for a year.

What is security like around the school area?

he sure did! Locked away... don't know how long but glad he is paying for his stupidity! I just hope he never touched any children inappropriately.

What security? During school there's some kind of playground aide or something...and the rest of the time the cops drive by once in awhile...but that's about it. The only place in town that actually has any kind of security is the door plant.

So someone could have been around the school that night and no one would really have seen the person? It looks like the school is a bit remote on the outskirts of town (or is this just my bad perception from the maps again?).

Whew, thanks for clearing that up Scandi. It did sound a little painful for sure! :(

I'll try to get that shot though. :)

I'm kinda confused. Today when cyber talked to KK, it was said that they were still looking for a building and such to have a command center...

Some info on the woman from the Laura Recovery Center. She is from Oregon and her niece was taken in California some months ago. I think she said she is a volunteer here helping coordinate the search effort along with Kara. They are looking for a building or operations center here in McCleary. If anyone knows of one they can use, please let me know.

but the links to the craigslist stuff are all from the 19th....yesterday...

so either KK is NOT involved in that... or she gave out bad info...right?
