I don't know how I feel about the roommate.

On the one hand, not reporting her missing for "several weeks" sounds fishy.

But on the other hand, maybe they didn't really know or interact with each other much, and even had opposite work schedules. If they only got together, say, once a month to discuss paying rent and bills, then maybe that's why "several weeks" passed.
