Is it the person who just seems way too happy for a memorial service?

The only people I see that appear as "happy" are the dancers, which can easily be dismissed as #1--part of their routine affect, and #2---when looking at memorial brochure, they are remembering fonder times.

WC seems more "humbled" and "appreciative" in my opinion.... I don't see any happiness on her face what so ever.

Sorry Melissa---one more question about this point----is it possible that JV texted MC earlier in the day? And then maybe the texts didn't show up on MCs phone until 3:40??

The first time JV texted her was at 4:15. He was at work earlier and didn't have the chance to text her.

Question for JV:

What time did MC usually leave work for the day? Just wondering if he thinks she was on a break or off for the day when she disappeared.

I'll try asking him about that. He did say that when she texted him earlier in the day about going to his work, she didn't even know if she was going back to the academy. So, he figured she was definitely leaving for the day when we saw her drive off on that video.

Did JV say if when he tried calling her that it rang and rang and then went to voicemail or did it go straight to voicemail?

He said that when he tried calling, it went straight to voicemail, indicating the phone was turned off.

So here's an idea about some of your great devil's advocate work (thanks!!!)
I don't know about you but I keep a very large flashlight (heavy metal one) in my car to use for light but also to hit people that scare me on the head----so that could be a weapon to hit her on the head if she had something like that. Second, maybe that blow did not lead to any blood but left some other evidence when the perp moved her out of the driver's seat (hair, etc.). And maybe it is THAT evidence that made LE worried when they found her car up at PC and suggested that something more had happened to her than disappearing. The idea of pre-meditating an attack in the carwash totally makes sense to me---I can picture that being a perfect (5 min. of no one being able to hear or see anything) set up to plan----as long as you know that you can get her out of the driver's seat.

It explains how she could get incapacitated in 15 minutes IF and I mean IF we are talking about a 15 minute window between an Uncomfirmed sighting at 4 PM and 4:15 unanswered text by JV (although we still don't know if his 4:15 texts went right to voicemail). You are right that this seems risky for the perp and it seems like it would require great strength---I agree.

I think I've already answered your text & voicemail question but I just wanted to comment about how you said that you keep a flashlight in your car to hit people over the head that scare you. That made me chuckle a little, just picturing you doing that. I know what you meant, like in an emergency, but it just sounded like something you do often, which made me laugh. :)

Is it eighth row down middle picture person sitting behind WC?

snipped for length
I used to have Verizon before switching to another carrier, and part of the reason I changed to another provider was because of the poor reception I had on my way to the Quincy area from Wenatchee. This leads me to speculate that the phone was still powered up and on it's way to Crescent Bar, along with M.C. She may or may not have been alive at that point. She may have been badly injured or deceased. The phone may have been in her coat pocket or in the perp's possession. I do know from having had Verizon that some of my messages (made to me while I was in transit) did not come through until I reached the Quincy area. This leads me to speculate this could have been why her B.F. could not reach her at 4:15 and in subsequent attempts thereafter. But I do believe the phone remained on until the last ping when it was turned off or destroyed. I do not believe her car went to Crescent Bar that day.

I have Verizon too and the reception used to be really bad in Crescent Bar but the cell phone towers they put up in recent years have made it so I have almost perfect reception from anywhere down there.

1. SP, I find it difficult to believe the windshield wiper, especially the driver's side would be not functioning for a long period of time. This is the Pacific North West- it rains - alot. I would think her dad would have this fixed, post haste for his daughter.

2. Did anyone comment on the apparent fresh gouge mark on MC car passenger front quarter? Staged accident abduction?

ETA: Windshield wiper position was commented on several threads ago. A cracked windshield is common in as cars age due to stresses in the frame transmitted to the brittle glass, divot from flying stone will eventually migrate into a crack. If I saw a smashed impact type damage to the glass then that would be something. IMO

JV confirmed that her windshield wiper didn't really work. Also, it actually rarely rains in Wenatchee. It's almost like desert out there. It rains a lot on the west side of the mountains, but east of the mountains is almost like a different state, the climate is so different.

ETA: I guess Wenatchee did have a lot more rain than usual this year. I just didn't know because I'm not from Wenatchee. I would have assumed her dad would have gotten it fixed if it wasn't sufficient for driving in the rain- windshield wipers are not very expensive.

Is it eighth row down middle picture person sitting behind WC?

You know I started this new conversation about the memorial photos. It was only based on my own observation and nothing else. It was just a person whom always seemed to be looking down in all the photos. The person is not a minor. The person is CC. That was only an observation. There is no mystery, just an observation. He looks to be grieving and distraught. It just struck me as kind of odd. I am no expert on reading peoples body language. I just wanted to know if anyone else noticed it without telling you all who it was I was looking at. Obviously no one else saw anything that seemed odd to them, so please disregard my observation. Thanks.

What would she have generally done for the hour and 15 minutes, 3:01 pm to 4:15 pm? -- I'm assuming she was waiting for JV to get off work. Seems like that is a longer time then one would generally take off. Was JV working a little later than normal? Where would she wait? Dennys?

What is JV's idea about why Dennys has come up on the radar by LE?

ETA: Sorry about the confusion: maybe it was the Sharis restaurant. Anyway, it was a RUMOR a number of threads back I believe that JV was questioned about whether or not his vehicle was at the restaurant that day? Also, the question is about whether MC would usually take off from her beauty school an hour and 15 minutes earlier than her bf would be getting off of work? Did she leave at 3:01 pm to go see JV as soon as he got off work? When was he scheduled to be off? Does he sometimes work longer than scheduled? If so, and MC is waiting for him, what would she generally do while she waited? I can see 15 minutes being wasted getting a coffee or whatever but an hour and 15 minutes seems excessive to just be waiting around downtown.

Is anyone familiar with the names of JF's employees? I want to post some initials, just curious about someone. Thanks.

I have the same model of LG phone as MC. I don't put mine in my pocket, because, well, I am a girl and carry a purse. So I don't know if it easily turns off when in a pocket.

I do know, however, that to turn it off you have to hold the "end" button for several seconds (estimate of 3 to 5 seconds of continuous pressure). Also, it has an automatic lock that locks the keys after about 22 seconds. This prevents the other keys from accidently being used when in a pocket, for example. So, that being said, if her phone was in her pocket, and it was bumped or pressed due to outside pressure, the chances of it turning off are slim.

In order to unlock the phone, you have to press a button and then press the "ok" key on the phone. Pressing "ok" directly won't unlock it.

I don't know if the lock feature can be turned off. I am pretty savy when it comes to devices, and I have searched the phones features and have yet to find a way to turn it off. I could be wrong, as it may be hidden within a feature of a feature that I didn't discover.
But, when I first got the phone, I didn't like the lock feature and looked for a way to disable it. I couldn't find it, so I realized I would have to get used to it.

Let me know if you have any other questions regarding this phone.

BBM

Ok, so what about removing a battery? Taking the back off, ect. Easy or difficult for someone unfamiliar with the phone? Does it have a flip or slide that must be opened to remove battery? It's sounds like neither of these things turn a phone on. What happens when you put a battery back in? Does it power up or does that require pushing the two buttons? What are the chances someone unfamiliar with the phone would be able to even turn it on?

Does it make a noise/alert you when you leave, but especially when you return to a cell coverage area?

I had never heard about Dennys before but I'll ask.

What do you mean by "Seems like that is a longer time then one would generally take off."? Are you referring to MC taking a break or JV taking a break? I'm just a little confused by that.

Melissa; Where are you from (most likely not Wen.)
We had a record rain fall this year. It is not conceivable to drive with out wipers

When did Denny's come up on the radar by LE? I've missed something.

Do the initials MJ mean anything to anyone? This person is not a minor.

I think Melissa was trying to let people not familiar with the area know that Wenatchee doesn't get the rain fall like in the Seattle area.

Even with record rain fall this year it still doesn't rain that much.

And also---AltTheory----you are right it could be that in the carwash the perp threatened her, took over her phone etc. and didn't hit her there but began the process of forcing her to drive up to the Sunnyslope house etc. That is also probable.
Either way I think something happened inside the carwash because the perp planned it that way and that is why the strange decision to go to the carwash.

Something - like a strong armed car-jacking - while going through the car wash seems more plausible. Again, I wouldn't do this if I had the ability to be alone with MC almost anywhere else, (or could convince her to willingly travel someplace to be alone with her). Forcing anyone to drive you through town is a dangerous game. (FYI: You should NEVER go willingly anywhere under threat of force - it WILL only get worse and give the bad guy more control over the situation).

As to the swinging of a flashlight, or hammer, or almost any blunt object INSIDE a vehicle: IMO, rather difficult. A gun would make a much better threatening weapon in this situation, (YET, it is still better to have a gunshot wound while jumping out of the car in downtown Wenatchee than going ANYWHERE else with that bad guy.) A four minute car wash is a long time, but if MC was willing to have this person in her car to begin with -- she could have asked attendant for help, right? -- why wouldn't the passenger just convince her to drive him home or someplace else that would give the suspect more control over the situation? The risk of doing something downtown, whether in the car wash or not, just seems too high to make it plausible for what I feel is gonna turn out to be a premeditated murder.

Sorry... ok, maybe it was Shari's and not Dennys. Either way, there was a rumor a number of threads back of JV being questioned by LE about whether his car was at the restaurant.

Also, I'm referring to "MC taking a break" - although, according to what you've previously stated JV believes, it sounds like it can be ruled out that MC had any intentions of going back to the salon school that day.

So, I'm talking about the time between MC leaving her school, 3:01 pm, yet not being able to meet up with JV until 4:15 pm. Was it common for her to wait over an hour, (getting coffee or whatever?), waiting for JV to get off work? Was he working a little later than normal? Did he ever work longer than normal, and if so what or where did MC do/go while she waited?

Alt.theory-

Maybe he couldn't make her go to his home because he lives with someone else. Maybe he could, however, make her go somewhere empty or secluded?

I don't remember Denny's... I remember something about Shari's and JV car spotting or something, but that is it.

I guess it's subjective....because I disagree. :) I don't think we had much rain at all. :) Was it really a record?
