I believe that when someone makes the decision & takes the ultimate action to end their life, it is a confluence of discouraging/triggering events and long-held hopeless thoughts.

Sometimes, the opportunity is orchestrated or purely happenstance.

Sometimes, there is a trigger that is only known by the suicidal person.

Sometimes, there's nothing anyone (who knows & loves the suicidal person) can do, when that confluence of discouraging events and hopeless thoughts converge.

The person may have been waiting, for some time, for that perceived convergence as a sign to end their life, and when they believe the sign has appeared, they are relieved to know that their suffering will soon come to an end.

This is one of the things suicidal people struggle with day to day - looking for the "sign" that 'now is the time'.

This is one of the reasons it's so difficult to determine who might take their lives by suicide.
I know, already...
that most will not understand...
The peacefulness one encounters once they have finally made up their mind. The indecision of minutes, hours, days, weeks, years, decades! the relief...

Me, too, my dear Ima-friend. Me, too.

Folks would be wise to listen to those of us who've teetered on that precipice and have lived to tell the tale.

I love you. I'm soooo happy you're still here, my lovely one.

May his loved ones find the strength to continue on without him.

Sad.

It's beyond high time that the social stigma surrounding suicidal ideations, suicidal attempts, and completed suicide ends.

It's beyond high time that the silence ends.

I'm tired of hiding in the shadows, in the basement.

I'm a survivor of a suicide attempt - several, in fact.

I'm a survivor.

Me too. It’s almost become inheritantly in my genealogy. I’ve lost numerous family members to the mastery of invisible pain. We’re all type A. Every one of us. We succeed at whatever we put our mind to. MOO, JMO, IMHO and all that other bulls***t!

Would you have committed suicide in such a way that you could have physically killed other people in the process?

NO!!!!!!!

NO!!!!!!!

Then you are nothing like the guy that stole a plane without any flight training and flew it over a major metropolitan area and eventually crashed it near homes. You have my deepest sympathies and I hope you get the help you are looking for.

Here's a lot about Rich - religious Christian guy

He doesn't sound like a very religious Christian if he violated the "thou shalt not steal" commandment.

It's not a question of "would you have".

My suicide attempts were in the past, not in the future.

"Would you have" mixes future tense and past tense, which is impossible to answer, linguistically speaking.

And no - my suicide attempts didn't put anyone else's lives in danger - only mine.

oh new stuff i am hearing he was down to 760 lbs fuel

ugh huh again

it was after this report he did the roll

so maybe the engine sputtering was interruption in fuel flow ?

You all have my deepest sympathies and I can only imagine how hard it is to come forward.

And there is a big difference between the suffering you went through, where you wanted to take your own life, and someone who really didn't care about the lives of others. Because frankly I don't think he did care. He wouldn't have taken the plane, wouldn't have flown over the many homes in the area (including homes of people I know), and wouldn't have crashed near homes.

You are better than him, never forget that.

(including homes of people I know),

that does help explain and make understandable some your thoughts and feelings today!

Thank you Paul. I’ve read so many of your posts, I thank you. I’m Ok. I am daily blessed. Every single day. I don’t understand the mindset of this man. At all. He took that with him.

Exactly. Would: future conditional tense.

I’m sorry Paul. At times, I’m so selfish, I don’t listen. I’m sorry.
