Search and rescue personnel are scouring the Carbon River area of Mount Rainier National Park on Saturday for a Mark Miller, 61, described as an experienced camper and hiker.

Search and rescue personnel are scouring the Carbon River area of Mount Rainier National Park on Saturday for a Mark Miller, 61, described as an experienced camper and hiker.
- He should have returned home from a weekend camping trip on Sunday, Jan. 26, according to posts on SM.
- His vehicle, cellphone and ID were found inside his van near the park’s Carbon River ranger station, according to Ed Troyer, spokesman for the Pierce Co. Sheriff's Office.
- Miller set out for a camping trip on Jan. 24 and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
- When and to whom friends and family reported Miller missing is unclear.
- The Pierce Co. Sheriff’s Dept activated their SAR teams on Friday.
- On Saturday, the teams were using dogs to search the area.
- Heavy rain has fallen for the past week throughout western WA and the forecast calls for partly sunny weather on Sun and Mon in the Orting area with lows near freezing.
