She spoke with her sister on the phone on May 25, 2024. Her fiancé states he dropped her off to go fishing with friends from Seattle, near Underwood, Washington along the side of Highway 14. I totally agree. Seattle to Underwood, WA is about a 4 hour drive. That is really far to go fishing IMO.

Meihong was staying with her fiance in Glenwood and he dropped her off near Underwood. The friends she was meeting were from Seattle. Glenwood to Underwood is about 40 minutes. Underwood is on the Columbia River, which is a popular fishing location.

Thank you for the clarification. It was quite possible that her friends from Seattle may very well have been in the area to meet up with her to go fishing.

It seems sad to me that Meihong has been missing since 2024, has a NamUs page, and has a missing persons case number with the county sheriff, but I can't find any social media posts about her disappearance from the sheriff's department, her fiance, her family, or her friends.

Um. Does anyone have ANY more details about this? Like where they were supposedly fishing? Or where exactly she was dropped off?

I mean... the in-lieu site is right there at the base of Cook-Underwood Rd, but she's listed as (and appears) Asian-American, not Native.

Or were they supposed to be fishing from the riverbank? The Columbia or the White Salmon? Or perhaps a bit west of there at Drano Lake?

Also... that poster lists Klickitat County Sheriff's office. Perhaps because her fiance was from Glenwood? But... Underwood is Skamania County. The county line right there follows the White Salmon River... if she'd been dropped off in Klickitat Co, it'd more likely be considered Bingen or White Salmon. (There's not really anywhere TO drop anyone off on the east side of the White Salmon River... the west side would be a lot more likely.)

Underwood still feels like *home*, though I'm a misplaced transplant these last several years. But I've seen/heard nothing about her locally. Which suggests a couple things. One, we already know - she's not local. But still, the grapevine tends to catch interesting things even if they're not about locals. Two... the NA community tends to hold itself a bit separate. Perhaps her friends or fiance are NA? And then three, there's the "only blond white cute chicks get publicized" thing... but that's improved a bit these last few years.

Oh, and a note... location-name-wise, the whole area on top of cliff would also be considered Underwood. Pretty much nobody calls it Underwood Heights.

But the info specifies "along highway 14".

I'm curious where exactly he said he dropped her off, or where the friends were... because locals would have almost certainly specified locations at the river level. It'd be "the in-lieu site", "the houses at the bottom of the hill", "Manny's", "the gravel spot", "the beach", "along the train tracks" (where one parks to go to the beach".

It'd be a strange spot for a bunch of non-locals to meet up to go fishing, unless they were meeting at the in-lieu site.

How sad. Is the POI her fiance? The POI is Richard Robinson, but I don't recall if her fiance was ever named in the earlier news stories about her disappearance.
I don't think so. This article says her fiance lives in Glenwood, WA and the POI lives in The Delles, OR.

He was charged for failure to register as a sex offender. I'm guessing that's not JUST in his state, but anywhere. I couldn't find him listed on a national sex offender registry and also searched Colorado, Oregon, and Washington.
