What about the night she was drugged or the next morning. I can't imagine how she felt. Didn't she at least suspect he had given her something..?

You and me both. Nicki loved her sobriety and was an active member of the recovery community. He is a piece of you know what. I thank god that Mr. Chiquito is so incredibly supportive of my sobriety. He even tells me when I get a little kookoo: "you might need a meeting" hehehehe.

You are so right about the support, Little Sober Bean -- especially from those who mean the most to you -- they are the ones who know you best and it's nice for someone to really notice what's important. It's a bit like lifting weights -- no one can really help you when you're are gritting & grunting to lift it up, but someone can give you a "You can do it," and a "Well done," when you're done. IMO, only another AA member or someone very close to that person knows how tuff maintaining sobriety can be. What a jerk, IMO.

Was he jealous of the attention she prolly got at AA meetings -- the special friendships she shared at AA -- the "exclusiveness" of the group?? Or did he just enjoy it when she seemed vulnerable? Just plain meanness & hate?

I used to wear a night/bite guard (for teeth grinding) made by my dentist, putting it in is the last thing you do at night, you can talk with it in but it's not all that comfortable because it covers the roof of your mouth and your tongue hits it, I didn't even like taking a sip of water while wearing it. Mine was clear and although visible, I'd have to smile or open my mouth for someone to see I had it on. I can easily see him not noticing it if she'd laid down and he attacked her in bed (and with the blood they said was found on the mattress it sounds possible).

Thank you for sharing. Was the retainer held in your mouth pretty tightly? The reason I ask is Nicky was beaten as well as strangled. Would either a severe beating in the face or being throttled to death cause the retainer to come loose or would it have held. Forming a kind of kind suction to the roof of your mouth?

They're a pretty close fit, mainly so it won't move around while you sleep, mine couldn't fall of my mouth, I had to pull it down and out to remove so I can see hers remaining in place throughout what he did to her.

Anyone remember what time court starts? Seems like it's been so long I've forgotten.

I am rewatching the testimony. Morning was super busy at work.

Could be a short afternoon, this morning the prosecutor said she only had 2 witnesses lined up for the afternoon. I thought lunch would be over by now but the screen still says they'll be back after lunch.

LOL And I thought I had these time zones down pat.

I also thought the PT said they only had two witnesses this afternoon and she wasn't showing a video because she had to lay a foundation first, but it looks like she laid the foundation with the Safeway lady, so maybe the Draino purchase video after the break? I'm fairly confused at what he needed Draino for - anyone have any clues?
