ATV trail? If he stashed an ATV somewhere to use maybe it broke down/got stuck so he succumbed to going on foot.

But I would think he would've gotten further than that if on an ATV? People who know the area might know if an ATV would've taken him further but guess it depends on his route.

The location where he was possibly spotted seems like such an extremely remote and unlikely place for him to wind up in, the kind of place only locals would know, IMO. I had a hard time even trying to find a good map of the area on Google Earth. So I looked at my old pre-internet book of paper maps of the Idaho national forests and back-country, and I noticed on those old maps that the Idaho State Centennial Trail is quite close to where he was reported seen. (Couldn't find the trail on GoogleEarth) This is a trail that runs north and south thru Idaho from the Canadian border to the Nevada border. I wonder if he might be using that trail to make his way through these wilderness areas. There are places the trail crosses highways and towns, it even crosses Interstate-90.

Maybe he's been there before? No one seems to where he lived there or his previous connection to Idaho.

Would he have a place that was special to him there or maybe he is just about keeping moving.

It's probably an easier walk too, as he wouldn't have to traipse through brush.

Someone who hadn't seen his tattoos before described them "pretty accurately."

He was in an unusual area for a hiker, as it was an ATV trail.

Didn't make eye contact. Described long pony tail and ungroomed facial hair.

Terrain is rugged, hard for anybody to navigate those areas.

Could be but I think it's just a general warning because he killed 3 innocent, sweet children, he's on the run, and likely armed (IMO) and dangerous. Even if not armed, he has a lot of experience under his belt from his military service, and still dangerous, even if he's not armed. I'm sure he has a knife to use as a tool (and could be used as a weapon).

Right, and I think he more than likely did bring one or more firearms with him when he first started out. An Army Ranger would want/need a firearm and it'd be easy to have them in a backpack.

If not unknowingly ambushed by LE, I think TD will end up dead rather than captured either by killing himself or suicide by cop. A sick, demented coward who could zip tie and place bags over his own innocent daughter's heads is not going into custody willingly IMO.

I say that, but I realized after typing it, we've seen many murderers give up when confronted by LE. Who knows?

Hmmmm. Below is a picture of Decker wearing a cream coloured tshirt, black shorts and converse type runners. (These pictures were posted some time ago by LE and are again posted on link cited) Similar attire to what the witness described in the sighting.

It is also reported that US Marshals believe that Decker is armed.

Are these photos of him in the cream shirt and black short current? Is that pizza boxes he's carrying? He looks cleaned up for having been out in the woods if it is recent. Shower, etc. He must be holed up somewhere he access to these things.

According to this old post by Brian Entin, the photos were taken close to when he "went missing" -- if the pizza photo was the same day he picked up the girls he then destroyed, maybe he fled with that shirt on his back. Maybe not his only outfit, but one of them.

One always has to remain skepticalwhen witnesses describe a 'wanted' photo with 100% accuracy, but the fact there were more than one sighting/witness lends credence IMO.
