I feel such anger each time I check this thread and see TD has still evaded capture. I believe he's gone out of the area having planned this probably since WD took him back to Court to change the Custodial Visitation schedule.

Those sweet innocent little girls, it really breaks my heart, and doubly so knowing that they knew it was their 'father' who did this to them. :(

They might catch him eventually when he has to resort to dumpster diving for food. I think that's how they found that Rudolf fugitive. He was hiding in the Appalachian wilderness for five years after bombing Olympic Park and having a million dollar bounty on his head. Moo.

JMO. I fail to understand Chelan county PD's logic. To believe that an ex-military killer would be running circles around the place where he killed his three children doesn't seem reasonable in hindsight.

Indeed. Back to my lingering question that now is louder in my mind, how did LE know with certainty TD went into the woods to begin with??

The man had a 3 Day head start, he may have planned his crime, he may have had access to wheels of any sort, he may have a new identity and passport, he is trained to evade and survive.

Now the FBI and US Marshalls are taking over and the FBI has a psychological profile. Perhaps they should have started there. Hindsight brings clarity.

I think that not declaring Amber Alert gave Travis enough time to escape wherever he wanted.
This being said, to escape is easy in Washington.

I have seen only two places on Earth where people would so intensely mind own business and be oblivious to the humans around.

Swiss Alps and the state of Washington.

He potentially can live here undetected. If he wants to move, there is enough place in the country to hide, but human mentality might be different.

Some good info. Sheriff Morrison confirmed when they were searching and flying over The Enchantments and spotted the lone hiker that potentially was Travis, they were running low on fuel and had to loop back around, get fuel and come back. So they were unable to drop searchers right away and the lone hiker ended up scrambling down the Ingalls Creek area, which is not the typical route for those hiking in the Enchantments.

Also, talking about resources: Sheriff stated that King County and Snohomish Co has put up over a $1M each assisting them as well as Spokane was right along those lines at the $1M figure.

JMO. I fail to understand Chelan county PD's logic. To believe that an ex-military killer would be running circles around the place where he killed his three children doesn't seem reasonable in hindsight. Maybe we overrated the level of his paranoia and underrated manipulation and planning. I think he is far gone from Eastern Washington; on the other hand, there are many depopulated areas here and in Eastern Oregon, and he can likely survive on fruits and vegetables grown locally. My concern is, with current photos of the man and no voice recordings, given what we wear now in WA (it rains again), there is no way I would be able to recognize him from the photos in the media. Likewise, the Texans, the Canadians and the Brits are likely blissfully unaware of him traveling their lands. He probably won't go to Afghanistan, although now it is a great place to hide. Europe and other known destinations are not impossible. To not drop the ball further, LE should provided us with maximum information to assist in recognition. Including quality voice recordings.
I have seen some FB posts shared here in Canada! Thank goodness!

Not sure how far the posts will travel online but some of us Canadians will have our eyes peeled! Me especially, I'm on the west coast close to Washington...

There are lots of islands (Gulf Islands) of the coast of Washington and BC however I don't think he got as far as the coast. JMO MOO

“There’s some that may be sympathetic to his cause, which I think would be misguided,” he added, without elaborating on exactly how they might be involved.

“I mean, he’s accused of murder — not just once, but three times — and he is a danger,” the sheriff stressed of the troubled dad.

“So, for those that might have sympathy towards him, please allow the opportunity for us to do our job,” he said, suggesting the sympathizers were somehow interfering in the ongoing hunt.
Sheriff hunting Travis Decker fears ‘misguided’ sympathizers might try to help him: ‘He is a danger’

I don't believe there is much chance anyone "sympathetic" is assisting him. JMO

And I wonder if TD could be in or headed to the North Slope of Alaska through Canada - BC and Yukon. It's a great place to hide and well paying jobs to be had on the pipeline and construction...

TD could be anywhere, but this place nags at me. Maybe 'cause I was in AK last month. ;)

Interesting quote... I still wonder with the reward money and those comments if they suspect someone did help him along the way.

I always have this thing where I think when reward money is involved, LE suspect someone knows something out there and want them to send in a tip. ALL MOO

I heard about this case first from FB originally before websleuths, I'm in the midwest and it was reposted by a friend down south. So definitely making the rounds, even since the earlier days.

Sympathetic. Are these fundamentalists who say women may not divorce no matter what?
That is more radical than the Taliban.

I think the sheriff was just ruminating. I don't think there is any evidence that anyone sympathetic or otherwise helping this man accused of murdering his precious girls.

It's disgusting to even think about, but stranger things have happened. :(

Gotta show ID and tickets for all those jobs, though. Although who knows, this was planned and whose to say he doesn’t have other ID.

The good side of social media :) I love to hear how fast info can get out that way, especially with stories the news doesn't always cover or cold cases too.

I actually am in AK, but aside from that tidbit, there is no way he could get a good paying construction job on the north slope. Those are mainly highly skilled well documented jobs with many ppl deep to replace them if need be. I doubt he could get a fishing job, or cannery, so many people in tight quarters, he would soon be identified. Most jobs these days up here require issuance of 1099's, meaning ID needed, and there is scrutiny for illegals.

And hatred of baby killers. Alaska is still a place to come and disappear, but look what happened to Chris McCandless. There are homeless camps but it's not like blending in a big city when a guy needs tent, sleeping bag(s), stove in winter. etc. I just don't see him blending in easily, there are no major job markets for newcomers like there used to be.

In fact most restaurants and businesses around Denali use those federal/state jobs programs to import young ppl from eastern europe, Taiwan, etc. It's interesting meeting your waiter these days, interesting accents. And getting here thru Canada? Albeit with a 3 day head start I just don't see him getting up to the far USA border all that quickly. Unless he came up to SE Alaska from Seattle on a boat, but unlikely. His inexperience on a boat would be a drawback.
