Either he made brilliant survival moves or he's no longer around. 50-50 IMO.
MOO he took off on Friday night to parts unknown. I think the dogs should alerted by now.

Yes! That idea has some legs!

TD also said to the officer he 'was in transition'. Could he have been delusional about reconciling with WD, and between the minor accident and when he picked his girls, reality hit hard?

Was that the trigger for his possible psychotic break, which I still susoect?

IMO
It's almost as if TD needed a caregiver, like he devolved into needing full time care in some form and was not in parenting mode whatsoever.

Seems he couldn't seem to look after himself for day to day things, nevermind his daughters :(

New interview with Sheriff Mike Morrison (uploaded yesterday, July 24th)

It's been more than 50 days since Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia Decker were found murdered in the Upper Icicle Valley, allegedly by their own father. Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison says despite uncertainties and frustrations, the hunt for Travis Decker goes on.

Time flies. 50 days? Wow. If he was in the woods, that's a long survival mode. Makes me think more he's not in the woods.

Sheriff Mike Morrison and the swift team are heading back to the water (Icicle Creek/River) next week. Safety first-- Godspeed.

I tend to lean towards him being deceased in the woods at this point, but weirder things have happened. Heartbreaking case.

Childkillers are different than family annihilators.
There is a good chance he made a suicide gesture then decided to run instead, because "ouch."

If @10ofRods' hypothesis (below) is correct, 'highly narcissistic' people can be suicidal, but it is complex.
This is a horrifically violent, rage-filled and, IMO, highly narcissistic person. Dark Triad X3
Here is an academic article that explores the psychology between narcissism and suicide risk.

"Suicide risk is not rare in patients with narcissism, particularly in the context of severe narcissistic injury, where the patient feels shamed and/or vilified."

That said, I am still with you, @Boxer, believing there is a good chance TD is still alive somewhere.

RSBM
And in fact, we have another divorced-father-child-killer, eerily similar to TD's case. And the WS discussion on the case thread is also evaluating the 'planned murder' vs. 'spontaneous rage murder'.

The difference of course is that this father is in custody. OMG, this is just so awful. :(

50 days isn't quite 2 months and he's gone off the grid for longer than that.

He once spent more than two months living off the grid in backwoods country

JMO.

If he wanted to vanish but live, he should have found a fast way to Seattle. I lived in Seattle for a while, fairly recently. If he wasn't afraid and he didn't want more from life, it would be easy to become part of the homeless crowd around the waterfront. It would start to suck mid-September, imo, as the weather changes, but that's a while from now.

A person with some backcountry smarts could hide out for quite a while in summer in this region, especially if he brought a water filter. There are plenty of unsuspecting people to steal food from or scavenge what they discard when they leave on Sunday afternoon. You'd be amazed what people toss. Enough to get your daily calories for sure.

While the search for Decker will continue, officials said Friday it will do so with a "reduced footprint while the criminal investigation remains ongoing" and described the search efforts around the wilderness and initial crime scene as "exhaustive."
...

"As of today, Mr. Decker has still not been located, and there is insufficient information to suggest that he is alive, nor if he is deceased," the sheriff's office said.

I almost feel like they should have made the appearance for no search after the initial few days so that he was more comfortable. Assuming he is alive anyway

TD killed his daughters, left his dog alive and injured himself enough to leave blood at the scene, which I still believe was a red herring. If he had unalived himself I do believe they would have found him with all of their resources. They covered that area extensively, but I think he was long gone by the time they even began looking.

This guy is out there somewhere IMO. It makes me sad that the search has been scaled back so much. The girls need Justice and WD needs answers. Hopefully, TD screws up and is identified somewhere eventually. He just cannot get away with the brutal acts he committed.

Didn't think of it that way, thanks.

As the search for Travis Decker — the man suspected of killing his three daughters nearly two months ago — continues, the Washington Sheriff leading the investigation says it's possible someone is helping the former combat veteran evade the law.

If this is a thing - I wonder if it would be someone known to him or a random stranger he encountered while evading?

He does seem to have plenty of sympathizers. I don't get it.

I haven't read up on everything, and despite my reservations, has any expert done an 'offender profile' (criminal profile) on him? Like, what his tendencies are, and whether he would try to live under a fake identity or anything?

People (in general, I guess) tend to stick to things they're familiar with, places they know. Creatures of habit.

Really?! I can't imagine anyone sympathetic to him knowing he killed his children. If someone is helping him, I thought they must be completely unaware of his true history (as in, he's using an alternate name/story and the helper doesn't recognize he's actually a wanted man).
