This guy, TD, how hard can it be to find him? Obviously way harder than anyone thought.

I'd want my records shielded too if I was BD. I think TD is definitely unpredictable to say the least.

From the article I just posted link to:
Investigators believe it could be 33-year-old Decker due to the clothing on the remains.
“Clothing and personal items are similar to items that we knew were associated with Mr. Decker at the time of the incident," Morrison said. “The clothing top and clothing bottom match, along with other personal items that were on scene.”

Good. I hope it is that monster.

I hope it is him. I saw it on FB, too. The wording makes me hope that it is him.
Hopefully it will be a much-needed closure to a sad story.

Sounds like it's definitely Travis's body. Same clothing and other personal items were found.

The suspected remains were discovered Thursday afternoon, close to 3:15 p.m., in part of the Icicle Valley that was "outside of the search area" where earlier foot searches had taken place, Morrison said. In a press statement, the sheriff's office said the discovery was made "in a remote wooded area south of the town of Leavenworth."

CHELAN COUNTY — The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office says human remains have been recovered in the Icicle River drainage believed to be those of Travis Decker, the Wenatchee man accused of murdering his three young daughters in early June.

"We are waiting for further confirmation tomorrow," Sheriff Mike Morrison told NCWLIFE Thursday evening, "but it seems to be consistent with (clothing) we believe he was last seen in."

Whew !
What a relief if it's truly Travis.
Thankful for the girl's mom to not have to worry he'd suddenly appear and do god knows what.
For the record, my guess at this time is he passed judgement on himself.
Or the elements got him ?
Depending on the state of his remains, they'll have a clue as to when he passed.
Imo.

Interview with Sheriff Mike Morrison tonight. According to the Sheriff, his remains were found about 0.74 miles away from the initial crime scene, right around elevation above 4000ft. So just outside of the initial three search areas that they conducted earlier throughout the summer.

Sheriff also stated they are asking if they can get DNA results back by the end of tomorrow (Friday, Sept, 19th)

I have a feeling it was shortly after. Sounds like he never changed clothes. Anyone know what they mean by “drainage”? I wonder if he tried to conceal himself.

This will be such a relief to the girl's mother. I'm glad they finally found him.

Usually that means the river or creek is at the bottom of a valley or canyon and the walls of the canyon and any bottom land where the water drains into the creek are all "in the drainage" of the creek. In this case it is just a generic term for the Icicle Creek Valley and does not really specify anything other than it was not over one of the other sides of the mountain spines that the creek runs between.

It doesn't imply anything about the presence or absence of concealment.

*Edited to correct Icicle River to Icicle Creek

So happy to hear this news so there is some form of closure for all involved - family, LE, searchers, people who live in the area, etc.

I am not surprised he was so close to the girls - less than a mile. I have to wonder if he did this soon after the realization of what he did perhaps if any psychosis ended or if he was hiding for awhile then finally decided.

I am assuming suicide here, but will wait for COD as might not be.
