Profiler reveals new details in recovery of Travis Decker's remains

Dr. Stacy Cecchet hypothesizes about how Decker died any why he was found so close to the crime scene.

With regard to why Travis Decker did what he did, reporter Eric Wilkinson states as a lead-in to one portion of the interview that there are some things that forensic psychologist Stacy Cecchet "simply can't talk about".

Dr. Cecchet mentions that she examined Travis' books and journals. I wonder if there was something relevant in a journal.

"Why would he want to stay so close?", Wilkinson asks Cecchet, regarding the site where the remains were found. A public information officer off-camera then interjects a comment cautioning against speculation. Cecchet follows with, "There are certain things that are private". To me, declaring that certain things are private and can't be talked about does not quite line up with the idea of speculation.

"For reasons she can't yet specify, Cecchet led search crews to a specific area on Grindstone Mountain", says the interviewer. I am curious about Wilkinson's use of the word "yet".

The forensic psychologist concludes by stating that only Travis Decker knows the answers to the questions. She wishes she knew what he was thinking and feeling and experiencing. So I guess there are some things that can't be talked about and many things that can't be known.

Happy New Year Ya'll.

Not new News from today about LE's hunt for TD.

That young, smart psychologist cracked it for everyone! She will have a fine career ahead of her. I hope she's getting the credit she's warranted.

I understand it was a team effort with many people involved of course, but she broke it open. I got the impression she was fluffed off a bit early on and not listened to but I may have gotten that impression wrong. Regardless, so glad there is a sense of closure here. MOO
