Robert was last seen in Longview, Washington sometime in August 2008. He disappeared after his release from Western State Hospital, a state-owned psychiatric facility; he stayed in the forensic unit for eleven months after being arrested in September 2007 for disorderly conduct and intimidating a public servant. He was staying in a small apartment.

He wasn't reported missing until 2012. Few details are available in his case.

He is 5'11", 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has the following tattoos: right shoulder - "Reefer", upper right arm - "BL Mania". He also has scars on his face, neck, right leg, right knee, and right hand. His nickname is Bob and he may spell his middle name "Dwayne." He suffers from mental illness that previously required inpatient treatment. He also has a history of drug abuse.

Information on his 2007 arrest: "Longview police said Robert Duane Lopeman, 50, of Longview became infuriated Wednesday morning after officers disposed of some greasy garbage because they could not locate the owner. A female officer said Lopeman accused her of stealing from him, yelled, "Just kill me" and threatened to kill "every … woman in Longview and Kelso because of you." He was booked in connection with intimidating a public servant and disorderly conduct. Bail: $15,000. He also had a misdemeanor warrant."
