Robert Lee Pry, 30, whom Kitsap County prosecutors accused of killing Hood in an effort to access his bank account, received the 958-month term Monday from Kitsap County Superior Court Judge Jennifer Forbes.
Pry's lengthy criminal history, combined with jurors' finding "aggravating" factors in the case the victim was vulnerable and endured deliberate cruelty and the suspect showed a lack of remorse led to a nearly eight decade-long prison term.
Jurors did not convict Robert Lavalle Davis, 47, of being an accomplice to the murder, though they did convict him of identity theft. Davis got about 8 ½ years in prison in the case, according to prosecutors. The third, Arnold Mafnas Cruz, 47, was convicted of rendering criminal assistance and removal or concealment of a body. He received a 12 ½-year sentence, prosecutors said.
Joshua Rodgers Jones, 27, who told investigators he went into Hood's house with Pry, also is accused of first-degree murder. Pry's sister, Shawna Dudley Pry, 31, is charged with being an accomplice to the murder. Both are scheduled for trial Dec. 5.
