KIRKLAND, Wash. - Police are asking for the public's help in finding a missing endangered Kirkland woman who walked away from her adult family home Thursday afternoon and hasn't been seen since.
The woman, Samantha J. Ehrich, 33, has diagnosed mental health disorders and a traumatic brain injury. She has never been allowed to leave the facility without a chaperone and the staff reports she is not able to care for herself without assistance.
Samantha walked away from the Shumway Mansion Adult Family Home, 11410 99th Place NE, at about 4:15 p.m. Thursday without a cell phone, no identification and without her medications, police said.
Although she can communicate verbally, staff at the home and her family are concerned that this ability will diminish the longer she goes without taking her prescribed medications.
According to police, Samantha stands about 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds, with blue eyes and brown shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue sweatpants.
Samantha should not act violent if contacted, but she may seem confused or scared, police said. Police and her family are concerned for her safety and believe she may be endangered.
The facility where she lives has had no reported cases of coronavirus.

She is believed to be using the KC metro bus system and possibly traveling between Seattle and
Bellevue.

UPDATE: We still need your help finding a missing Kirkland woman. Yesterday evening we had a report from a KC Metro driver that saw her on a bus from Seattle to Redmond. She disembarked in the Crossroads Mall area.

Samantha is a 33-year-old white female, approximately 5 foot 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds with blue eyes and brown shoulder length hair. KPD found Ehrich at Angeline’s Day Center located in downtown Seattle in the 2000 block of 3rd Avenue.


Det. Cpl. Cody Mann said he and a fellow detective “went downtown to Seattle [March 19] thinking there was a strong possibility [they’d] see her walking the streets of the town.”

He also brought up how since she had been at one shelter, Ehrich might have been at another. Throughout their week-long search for Ehrich, KPD detectives were able to find her name on a register at a homeless shelter in Seattle, which she departed on March 16.

Mann said he printed out fliers with Ehrich’s picture on them and started passing them around at shelters he visited. Angeline’s was the second establishment the detectives walked into, and within 10 minutes, they located the missing woman.
