GUILTY WA - Six Anderson family members slain in Carnation home, 24 Dec 2007

This has got to be the most diabolical man I have ever seen in all the crimes I've sleuthed.

I have not been able to track down the original link for the following excerpt, but I remember very well reading it in the days after the murders. I was able to copy and paste it from a comment at another site. The last sentence is chilling:

KING 5 has learned that before Michele Anderson and her boyfriend lived with her parents on the property, the couple lived at a Fall City mobile home park, where the owner described Michele Anderson as unstable but docile. He said she cried a lot, but neither she nor her boyfriend seemed violent.

KING 5 tracked state business records that link Michele Anderson to a business called “Pure Evil Customs.” It is unknown what kind of business she had been running.

Family members say she was recently removed from the will, worshiped the devil and talked about killing her father.

Speaking of diabolical:

http://www.seattlepi.com/local/arti...s-tell-officers-of-victims-1260062.php#page-2

McEnroe allowed Erica Anderson to huddle with her children before he killed her. He was designated to shoot the children because Michele wasn't up to it, although both wanted to leave no witnesses behind, court documents say.

McEnroe apologized to each child before shooting each in the head at close range. Nathan had picked up the phone batteries from the floor and looked up at McEnroe, who told police the child gave him "the look of complete comprehension ... as if he understood."

In trying to rationalize why the couple killed the children, McEnroe explained three times that "I didn't want them to turn us in," court documents say.

I thought so too. The article is implying they will be tried together.
I'll look for further updates.

Searching case records, there is a pre-trial hearing scheduled for April 5.

Trial is still set for May 4, 2012.

trials will possibly be next year now, and costs are already up to over 4 million dollars, the system really does need to get itself fixed, so long to wait for a trial and so much money to get there,

from your link:

"Jury selection for the first Carnation defendant — it's unclear which one — could begin as early as Sept. 7, but will likely stretch through the end of the year, prosecutors said."

The article also said that jury selection in the death penalty case would last several months, so the actual trials would not begin until early 2013. Anderson and McEnroe will be tried separately, and the cost of the trials is estimated at $3 million.

Simply unbelievable. The crimes occurred in 2007.

FINALLY, five years after the murders, a trial has been scheduled for one of the defendants.

http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2019505302_carnation24m.html?prmid=4939

excerpt:
A King County Superior Court judge has ruled that Joseph McEnroe, who is accused of killing a family of six in Carnation on Christmas Eve 2007, will be tried before his co-defendant ex-girlfriend.

Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Ramsdell made the ruling last week during a pretrial hearing. While McEnroe's trial is to start in January, a trial date has not been set for Michele Anderson.

McEnroe and Anderson could face the death penalty if convicted.

finally, I am suprised that there is no plea deal offer, give him a plea for LWOP to testify against her, would save a huge amount of time and money

Seldom are executions carried out. FL, which is thought to be a no nonsense execution state has death row inmates that have been on death row for over 3 decades. I haven't researched WA's death row, but I have been researching the death, of the death penalty across the USA.. Normally after the MS Media spotlight is taken off a death penalty sentence, the Governor commutes it to LWOP. The United Nations has been pushing to eliminate executions for years. Couple that with the expense of the automatic appeals, etc. Death penalities vs LWOP is mainly used by prosecutors in high profile cases for job security and to pry info from defendants, imo. Most violent felons are recidivist and have unknown victims..
Please don't shoot the messenger, this is my opinion and observations...

McEnroes' trial is on indefinite hold after a judge ruled that prosecutors can not seek the death penalty against the two defendants. The ruling is being appealed to the state Supreme Court.

Courts costs are approaching $6 million. The murders occurred over five years ago. Unbelievable.

it is ridiculous, McEnroe offered to plead guilty in exchange for no DP and to testify against Michelle, just a total waste of money,

surely LWOP was enough instead of wasting millions of dollars going after the DP

It's unbelievable, the delay here in getting this case to trial.

What's the matter with the justice system in the state of Washington??
