Does anyone know whether a child car seat was in the back of JB's brother's car the day Sky disappeared? I don't remember it being mentioned. I know it's a big a hassle for parents to transfer a car seat from one car to another. It would be very suspicious if there was no car seat in the back of the car when LE arrived at the scene. LE would've doubted that Sky was ever in the car.

sorry to quote myself. Still trying to catch up on the thread.

What would make a child have dark circles around their entire eye and not just under their eye? Would the entire eye be from lack of sleep? Or lack of appropriate daily calories or some kind of vitamin or mineral deficiancy? Or would allergies appear all around the eye rather than just dark circles under the eye?

ETA: Dehydration?

I didn't think it on one child, I find it concerning on two.

Anyone know?

tia

My three and a half year old granddaughter has allergies to every type of grass, tree, flower, pollen on the planet, as well as a mild allergy to cats and dogs, and a severe, life-threatening allergy to nuts of any kind. (Neither household will permit nuts to even enter the home, by anyone for any reason; her reaction is severe and incredibly scary.) Any time she is outside for more than 5 or 10 minutes, her entire eye area starts to get the "allergy shiner" look.

It is not just under her eyes--it is all the way around, and sometimes even down her little cheeks. The "shiner" look can appear either pink, purple, or black, depending on how much exposure she has had to the offending substance. Both households have pets--the allergist told us that since her allergy to animals is so mild, we just need to ensure that none of them sleep with, on or near her. She does play with them. We do not isolate her from going outside; however, if she has physical contact with grass (for example) we must bathe her immediately upon going back inside, and give her Benadryl if necessary, or she will start having respiratory symptoms and the "shiner" will be much more pronounced and longer lasting.

I remember from early press conferences that the car seat and the alleged blanket were found in the vehicle. Then they backpedaled on the blanket and said they wouldn't comment on what was in the car.

Well... that's interesting. It's all about *her*. And a lot of negativity. All I can say is - I hope the cycle of dysfunction in this family ends with M, and hopefully Sky - if he is still alive. Sadly, I don't think he is. Julia's eyes portrayed that truth in the latest pictures. She wasn't just stressed. She was a wreck... she had not had sleep and had been crying, IMHO. Very telling... :(

Am I the only one who sees a stroller in the picture of Julia with the white shoes and new hair? This could be the last time Sky left the apartment, or maybe a blanket that Julia is pretending to be Sky but LE knows it's not? It looks like she is walking in the picture, too close to the door, and too diagonal to be at a counter, IMO.

I'm not seeing it as a stroller. More of a counter. Also, there are photos of her stroller on her most recent uploads to flickr. It doesn't have anything white by the handle.

I'm going to second this. This guy does real underground journalism.

I'm going to second second that! Isn't it funny how some dude working as a bartender in some dive, and let's be honest, <modsnip> is a dive!, can report better than the main stream media? Don't even get me started on the Baby Lisa stuff!!!

And I don't see a stroller in that pic either.

I'm not familiar with Whole Foods. We have Marlene's here. . .a health food store. But at Marlene's there is a counter as your leaving that has petitions (about requiring labels on GMO foods, etc,) newsletters, and etc. I wonder if that's what this pic is of.

Can anyone please post the link to these pics of Julia with touched up hair? Thanks!

I need to walk away for the night. The way Julia's family is tight lipped is hitting too much of a nerve in my own personal situation.

G'night all fabulous sleuthers.

Was this the way the photos were displayed at the press conference?

The order they are in is very telling IMO. I was trying to figure out if the photos of Julia were in chronological order, and I think they are.

So we have all these photos of Julia on top, so they are what are most important. Sky's photos should be the main focus here, if LE wants people to be looking for him, but IMO they have their suspect and she will lead them to Sky.

In the bottom left corner is the sister alone, in a very interesting set up of paper towels and a huge bowl of food. Next to that is the sister with Sky.

Then, in the right bottom corner is dad, and above that, a picture of dad with Sky, at the bank.

The pictures with M and Sky's dad seem to just be showing what the family looks like, while the pictures of mom seem to be LE trying to tell us/her something.

This is refreshing to hear. The days of the hardnosed, bulldog reporters are for the most part, gone!

Can we just talk about the elephant in the room here?

There is NO way that a severely OCD person accidentally OD'd their kid. They control everything. There is no room for accidents.

Her past behavior has proven that she needs to be in control and she has been vindictive of Dad. This was absolutely planned and premeditated. If for no other reason than her own need to control every situation. We have to take into account the timing as well. She was going to lose control.

This was no momentary rage. She wouldn't have allowed for this to happen in her home.

My guess is that she did what she has always done. It was a comfortable, safe pattern for her. She bribed Sky into going with her. She bribed him into getting out of the car. And then. . .I hate to think it. . .but she did something. . something safe, clean, and effective where she could still have control. . .where she knew the outcome.

I do still think she could have buried him. It's not messy to bury someone in the sand here and it doesn't take any special tools. She could have also dumped him in the water. But anybody from around here knows that all water leads to the Sound. I think it would have been giving up control in a sense, and I don't see her doing that. You just don't know where a body will wash up around here. BUT, if you bury someone, you know exactly where they are.

All MOO

In either the first or second press conference LE was asked if narcotics were found in the apartment. The response was affirmative--narcotics were found.

I do not recall the date of the press conference, nor do I recall any further information surrounding the topic of what else was found. I also cannot provide you with a link but you should be able to find it in one of the earlier threads.

For some reason, there has been little to no discussion here about the narcotics being found. I have been reading here every day since Sky disappeared, but until tonight have not commented. (I am a bit overwhelmed in real life right now and just haven't had the energy to post.)

I kept thinking that someone else would bring up this topic as I think it could be an important clue as to a potential accident happening to Sky while the children were left alone.

If you decide to search for, and then you find, the press conference wherein it was stated that narcotics were found, please bring a link forward so that we might discuss it further. I cannot remember the full name of the member who was transcribing all of the pressers, but I believe that the first part of his/her name is "ingra......"

Respectfully snipped. I suspected she was reading here and removed the scenic photo after we discussed it the day she uploaded it and poofed it a few hours later. That's why I assumed she likely saw our comments on the half dressed photo's as well. Of course I can't be sure, but that was my thought and reasoning for my post. :)

jmo of course.

That did cross my mind. But I'm betting people posting to news articles are saying similar things. For some reason, I always have this sense that perps don't find websleuths until later in the game.

BBM

The "I snapped" or "I reached my breaking point" defense has been used time & time again by defendants who have been charged with domestic violence. I don't believe the Court recognizes it as a defense against domestic violence charges.

I agree that someone can reach a breaking point, but that does not justify acting out violently against a spouse or partner.

I doubt that a reputable DA would agree that it's okay to threaten to kill one's spouse (or partner), or that it's okay to pull their hair or throw them against a wall, or punch them, or any other number of physical threats that spouses make against their wives or husbands (or girlfriends or boyfriends), when they claim to have reached their "breaking point" or when they claim to have "snapped", regardless of the alleged emotional trigger.

You know, you are very right! It is never okay to justify that kind of violence. The correct response would be to call a family member, clergy, a friend and get help. There is never an excuse and what I stated has been used in many cases to justify abuse, which is so wrong.

That being said, I differentiate between someone who loses it and becomes somewhat (yet inappropriately) physical due to extreme fear or anguish and your typical batterer, who goes through trends of tension building which they release in violent outbursts and battery, followed by abject apologies and flowers, etc., then a period of calm, more violence, interspersed with attempts to isolate from family and friends, to control, sometimes intense monitoring and then sometimes stalking and murder when the victim tries to break up.

Yes, you are right. The kind of violence I described cannot be legitimized. But I can see myself doing it if I felt my kids were in harm's way and despite months of trying and begging and patience, I came home to find that once again, my kid was made to suffer. Nevertheless, not right, I agree and I should be careful in legitimizing such behavior. It only helps to fuel those who claim they just couldn't control themselves and were only violent due to claimed "fear" or "anguish": "I'm so sorry baby, but I was so scared when I couldn't reach you all day. I thought you had left me. I didn't mean to lose it." Point taken.

I didn't see the pic, but you are on to something. I have (relatively mild) ocd (unfortunately for my house it is not as intensely cleaning oriented as her appears to have gotten :D) and it is very much about controlling how things are. I don't foresee her burying her son in some random place and forgetting about it, from an ocd perspective.. IF he is no longer alive and she disposed of him, he is either in a place she methodically prepared to be suitable OR she will not be able to rest and will go "check" on him wherever he is, both to punish herself and to verify he is still where she left him (control) or to possibly relocate him.

If she posted a bunch of pics and then unposted one, it was significant but she began to question whether it was unsafe to post it for some reason.

Just my 2 cents from an ocd pov.. But 1-10 my ocd is probably a 2 and hers sounds like a 9 or 10..

Very interesting. I hope LE is speaking with professionals who understand OCD.

It's just too much of a coincidence to me that the picture of Dad with Sky that they chose to release today is in the same place as the some of the surveillance footage of Julia.

:fireworks::welcome::fireworks:

Respectfully snipped and bbm.

If LE only spoke with JB on Sunday, how could they confront her that she had a babysitter for M but not Sky? I've been under the impression that when she admitted to LE she left the children alone, it was both.

Also, if she only agreed so mediation would end, why wait for 12 hours? They had to be hashing a lot of detail out and a lot of back and forth if mediation lasted almost 12 hours. why not just agree early on rather than going back and hashing out details for almost 12 hours. (I'm having a hard time even envisioning 12 hours of mediation in a single day. Ours was 4 and started at 1pm).

IMO, the 12 hours leads me to believe the children were both home alone and ok when she left for mediation but Sky was not ok when she returned. Then she spent from the time she returned Tuesday until the time he disappeared Sunday coming up with a plan.

jmo

Well, why did casey anthony run around for 31 days, stalling her mom, telling her she would bring Caylee home, making one excuse after another, telling people different stories, etc.? Criminals do not always make sense in their behaviors. Mentally ill criminals certainly don't.

Julia knew she had mediation scheduled. She may have been freaked, thinking she was going to be found out at any moment. Instead of calling off mandatory mediation (which it is prior to trial), she felt she had to go.

Once there, she knew if she agreed to him having visitation, she could not produce Sky (supposition), so she argued all day with an experienced mediator who showed her why her requests for no visitation, were not rational. After hours of trying to get out of giving him visitation, trying to avoid having to face the music when she could not produce her baby, she decided to cave and agree just so she could get out of there and do some more thinking, planning, about how to explain away Sky's absence in a manner that would not put her in jail.

The next day, still not having a plan she felt confident in, she tried to rescind the agreement. Remember, this is, if we are to believe Solomon and the medical reports, a mentally ill person. If she indeed killed Sky, she had to have been at the height of her illness and not likely able to slow her mind enough to plan a good excuse for his disappearance.

All she needed, like casey, was time. Keeping her court-ordered mediation appointment gave her time. Arguing against any visitation for Solomon, gave her time. Trying to rescind the agreement, she might have thought, would give her more time. That's my thinking here.

Exactly. As long as she removed it from the apartment, she could have said he was wearing anything.

Did anyone mention to Oriah that while daughter M said she saw her brother in the car, she only saw him with a blanket covering him?

As far as we know she never saw his face, just mommy carrying him covered by a blanket.

Thank you a million for dropping in on this thread Oriah! :blowkiss:

hth

Thanks Cubby- do you know if that is the blanket that was used as a scent article initially?

  • #499
It would be damn near unimaginably incompetent if they haven't used HRD dogs here.

In any case, my gut (worthless, obviously) has been telling me all along that this boy was not killed in his home or vehicle, and probably some time -- possibly days -- before mom reported him missing.

I am thinking that mom heard that dad won some limited visitation and she took him for a drive that night. MMO, etc

BBM: Still trying to catch up here, but yes it would.

Thanks for being here and helping Oriah. I want to summarize a bit because it might be helpful:

1. Mom and dad knew each other 14 years. Julia was 14 or 15 when they met. They were married in 2003 and were married for 6 years. They are not yet totally divorced, but they have been litigating custody for over a year.

2. Dad claims he filed for divorce and custody because in the last year of marriage, his wife became very mentally unstable and it escalated until he realized she was a danger to the children. She responded with a series of ever escalating accusations over time against him, stating he was abusive to her, caused bruises on the kids after separation and later put his finger in their daughter's "pee pee" after separation, during visits.

3. Mom recorded her daughter screaming and crying during custody exchanges with the dad. Many of us felt the mom was whipping her daughter into a frenzy in an attempt to cause hysteria with her comments in front of the daughter. Mom published her audio online for everyone to hear: http://juliabiryukova.blogspot.com/

4. Dad responded with a must read declaration. In it, he details mom's progressive illness and states he took LDTs with CPS which prove he did not bruise the kids or molest the daughter. He states that mom's extensive psych records should be examined. Those records appear to have been examined by the court and a child custody evaluator, later on. Dad begs the court to protect the kids or something bad could happen: http://images.bimedia.net/documents/Decl+of+Solomon+Metalwala.pdf

5. A restraining order apparently was issued against the father and the child custody evaluator stated that while mom was severely mentally ill, it did not stop her from being an effective parent. As a result of mom's allegations, and possibly the alienation of his daughter by mom, dad has not seen the kids in 10 months.

6. Mom and dad undergo an 11 hour mediation and finally agree on custody which would allow dad every other weekend, unsupervised visitation. That was 11-1-11. Two days later, Julia states she wants to back out of the agreement.

7. On 11-6-11, Sky is reported missing after mom said her car ran out of gas on the way to the hospital to take her sick baby in. She claims she left her baby in the car and did not lock all the doors. She walked with her 4 year old to a gas station where she called a friend to pick her up.

8. There were closer hospitals she could have taken Sky to. She also passed a school and a church and wandered, according to LE, in an upscale residential area, without asking anyone for help.

9. Contrary to earlier reports, she did have her wallet with her, insurance info, credit cards. But she did not take her purse or her phone.

10. The gas station had no gas at the time she went to it. Police found no gas can at the car when they arrived and they determined the car had 2.2 gallons of gas in it, it started right up and they later determined it had no apparent mechanical problems. We have just discovered it is her brother's car, not Julia's.

11. The friend Julia called picked her up as she made her way back to the car where she claimed to have left Sky. The friend was shocked to not see Sky with her. The police were called when they found Sky was not in the car.

12. Dogs found no scent of Sky outside the car.

13. The name of the friend who picked her up matches the name of a lady who wrote declarations in support of Julia's custody requests, earlier. Reports are that she took a LDT with LE and passed.

14. LE reports that mom admits she has left the children alone for long periods on more than one occasion. Both parents were arrested for leaving Sky alone in the car in winter, when he was 3 months old, for 55 minutes, while in Target. They claimed he was sleeping. They were forced to take parenting classes and do community service. Dad says he learned a huge lesson from this and cannot understand why mom would do it ever again.

15. LE reports that none besides mom saw Sky in the two weeks prior to the report of his disappearance.

16. They checked the trash room in her complex. LE denies checking landfills.

17. Mom, through her attorney, asked the court to place the daughter in dad's custody rather than foster care, at a recent juvenile dependency court hearing. The court denied the request and kept M in foster care with visitation to dad and none to mom. There will be further hearings.

18. Some of us felt there was something off with Julia's flikr account and FB account. She loves Justin Bieber and had tons of photos of her young daughter on FB but none of Sky, except her profile. One of her friends reported to LE that her FB changed when Sky went missing. Some of us felt her flikr account dramatically favored her daughter over Sky. I am crazy, so I counted. Her flikr, before the recent update (yesterday?), had, counting only those dating to after Sky was born, not including before, 714 photos of M, 362 of Sky, 449 with only M and 107 with only Sky. Rcently, there has been a ton of activity with several new photos added. One, an atypical scenery only photo which shows the marina and Mount Tacoma (or Tahoma?) in the background, was uploaded yesterday, IIRC, and then taken off the account again later: http://www.flickr.com/photos/metalwala

19. Mom spoke to LE quite a bit the day Sky was reported missing. But since then, she only answered questions through her attorney and now her attorney is not returning calls. She allowed LE to search the car and her apartment but refused to take a LDT. Dad took two. The first was inconclusive but his attorney states it was because he had not had sleep for two or three days and was exhausted. The second, we don't know the results. LE won't release them and neither dad nor his attorney have discussed them. Dad has been in the news, searching for Sky and handing out flyers. No one has heard from or seen Julia.

20. Mom's attorney reports that she is devastated, Her brother states she is upset. Her mom has not said much although an article states she sent em-ails to a reporter. They are somewhat odd emails: http://www.thenewtakhoman.com/111411.html

21. Mom may have been on a sugar daddy site since separation, seeking a sugar daddy who would pay her 3,000 to 5,000 per month: http://www.kirotv.com/news/news/website-says-biryukova-seeking-sugar-daddy/nFdmJ/

22. LE searched a park near the apartment of the mother, to no avail: http://www.king5.com/news/cities/se...-centered-around-Marymoor-Park-133742428.html

23. Dad immigrated here from Pakistan. He is a Christian. He went to high school here. Mom immigrated here from Russia, IIRC, when she was 13. She is Ukranian and a Christian. Her parents divorced in the 90's and Julia was apparently a part of the litigation as a "juvenile respondent" declaration was filed in their case, with her named as that juvenile.

I hope you can get something from the above that will help in mapping and searches!

THANK YOU Gitana1- can't tell you how much that all helps!!

Two things that immediately jumped to my mind.

#1. Area search dogs did not pick up any scent outside the vehicle. But they used the blanket that was allegedly covering Sky in the vehicle as a scent article? I understand why they did this (responding to a "my child has been kidnapped, this is what he had covering him") however- it's not a 'clean' scent article. And reading through the allegations of OCD and mental illness- and wondering if Sky was in the vehicle that day- the blanket used as a scent article could very well have been washed several times that day and then Sky never came in contact with it again.
Also- did they try trailing Julia and her daughter? That should have been easy, considering they left on foot, and the scent was right there.

Not questioning LE and SAR's instinct here- because who could've known all of this when 1st responding?? However, it is a bit of an issue IMO.

#2. Is it possible Julia has RAD?
